Hello, I am [Halo] Master Builder of Project Halo! We are a neutral non-faction organization, we plan on making the halo rings from Halo a reality in Starbase. We are planning on having the final product be a total of 50 kilometers in diameter, 1.6 kilometers wide, and 120 or so meters deep. Most of the space will be reserved for commercial use: rental slots, vendors, shows, etc. Pre-orders can be made on rental slots (not at the moment we will need to figure out size and pricing, pre-orders will be available at launch). Factions or individual members can also reserve slots for a vendor (again probably not until launch). Once the ring(s) are complete we will allow people to organize events at them. We are open to partnership from different factions! We are looking for people who are willing to help build and protect the rings. We are also looking for factions to be partnered with, Together we can make this dream a reality by bringing nations together towards one common goal! Come and be part of something great! https://discord.gg/4znz43g. If you want to partner with us we do have a 15 member minimum on faction partners. Here is the list of rewards you can receive by taking part in our venture, all of the things on this page are subject to updating by me:

(Note: the purchase of any slots especially for the first time will require an interview and possible additional checking for security) Starbase Player - All participants of the Starbase game will have access to the vendor areas of the station after construction. They will also be able to visit plots under permission of plot owners or when looking to purchase one under a salesman's supervision. Players will also be able to purchase items, resources, ships, etc. from Project Halo official vendors. Vendor Rental - Players will be able to rent out vendor slots of different sizes (price to be determined at launch) from a Project Halo sales official. Renting out a slot grants you minor discounts on purchases made from Project Halo official vendors. renting a vendor slot also increases your trust with Project Halo officials making any future slot purchases easier. Base Plot Rental - Players will be able to rent out base slots of different sizes (price to be determined at launch) from a Project Halo sales official. Renting out a slot grants you minor discounts on purchases made from Project Halo official vendors. renting a base slot also increases your trust with Project Halo officials making any future slot purchases easier.

Vendor Owner - Players can buy vendor slots permanently and afterward when they no longer want it, they can either sell it directly to a player (whom will undergo the same check as if they were purchasing it from Project Halo) or back to Project Halo. Vendor owners can trade slots and modify slots more intensely than if they were to be renting it. Vendor owners get a minor (more than renters) discount off purchases from Project Halo official vendors. Owning a vendor slot also increases your trust with Project Halo officials making any future slot purchases easier. Base Slot Owner - Players can buy base slots permanently and afterward when they no longer want it, they can either sell it directly to a player (whom will undergo the same check as if they were purchasing it from Project Halo) or back to Project Halo. Base slot owners get a mediocre discount off purchases from Project Halo official vendors. Owning a base slot also significantly increases your trust with Project Halo officials making any future slot purchases easier. Base slot owners will have limited access to Project Halo factories to build what they please.

Base Plot Owner (Several base slots) - (Benefits increase depending on number of slots owned) Players can buy multiple base slots permanently and afterward when they no longer want them, they can either sell them directly to a player (whom will undergo the same check as if they were purchasing them from Project Halo) or back to Project Halo. Owning several slots the owner can combine them all to make one massive slot to build one huge base in (this is recommended for small factions looking to have a base in a highly protected area). Base plot owners get a major discount off purchases from Project Halo official vendors. Owning a base slot also significantly increases your trust with Project Halo officials making any future slot purchases easier. Base plot owners will have major access to Project Halo factories to build what they please. Project Partner - (This deal can vary between faction to faction, but this is the default partnership. If you want to change your type of partnership contact a Project Halo official) Project partners will receive monthly pay, the amount is determined by the amount of hours faction members spent assisting the project in one way or another ( a logging system will have to be determined, if caught falsifying logs payment will be temporarily suspended). Project partners will receive a base plot the number of slots will depend on the amount of help provided during construction. Partners will be open to edit their slot however they please, their plot can also expand if exemplary work and outstanding effort are put in. Partners will be able to purchase some items for free from Project Halo vendors and others will be monstrously discounted. Being an owner of a partner faction will give you a lot of trust allowing the process of buying additional slots easy and quick. Project Halo partners will get full access to Project Halo factories certain days of the week and major access on the rest.

Saw the title of the thread and instantly click. Bringing the Halo rings into Starbase would be quite the feat!

We are planning it even at the moment, we are in contact with some of the devs and we will find a way to do his one way or another.
Be sure to plan that not everyone will see it as a community monument and that pirates will attempt to sabotage.

Plan security and escort for materials and how you will even get such a mass of materials :)

You are doing this on the SE server and are already a magnet of trouble. When Starbase comes out you will need more than luck to build a Halo let alone keep it from being rekted.

You will need to develop it over time, as a living and breathing colony-station. that way it will be able to be defended and its viability will be worth building, rather then for nostalgia.

This is beyond crazy, but I do wish you the best of luck haha. It's the crazy idea's that are always fun to see happen. We do know stations can be many KM's in size so compared to other games like SE you have more chance of doing it. Only one other game I know that can actually do it would be DU.

I still fail to see the practicality of such a large ring when many factions will have a host of mega stations of their own. What makes the ring idea better than a conventional station other than the fact that it's a ring.

I think its more of a challenge rather than a practical idea, sort of a project to test the limits of the game. A bit like landmarks. The Eiffel Tower wasn't built for practicality, it was build to show off its designers skill and what could be achieved by architecture at the time.

I fear this project is too ambitious and will end badly. That also sounds like a great reason to do it. Best of luck to you.

It depends how long it would take to build it and how hungry pirates are for more fights and things they don't need to acquire themselves. Because that will just be so many stops if pirates come across the halo ring and it's not abundantly guarded, that way it would just be a target since it's so large the pirates could just pick apart and take bits from it over time and you would likely not even know if you don't have enough personnel.
