I have a working button box on my desk to control the in game buttons on my ship. Though other might be interested!
I took a screen shot of a button, edited it to make a slightly different version for the "on" (lit) state. Then used a button box app to create teh push buttons to control the ship.
I use an app called SIM Dashboard, but there are others such as GameGlass etc that would also work. (my template is saved in the community templates of SIM dashboard: https://www.stryder-it.de/simdashboard/designs/view?id=2i1g
You can use any old tablet, phone etc. (I use a couple of very old tablets running Android ver 5! - not good for much else but great as a button box) - I have a mount made of some off cuts of timber/plywood painted black - no expense here!). If anyone ways to see some build pictures, I can show you, but I am no carpenter
The buttons "just work" no lag that I can tell. You just map you in game ship buttons to a key and set you button box app to match the same key press.
For me, its far more immersive.
Hope at least one person finds this interesting!
