I think a hyper-light material that is useless for anything other than decoration could potentially work as well. Decorating interiors and exteriors is painful because it adds useless mass to the ship, which is far from optimal.
I agree a change is needed. Is there a general community consensus on how it should work? Not very up to date on the very specifics of PvP builds and such.
Hello, forums. Let's talk about armor.
Currently, we have a selection of different plates available to us, the majority "standard" being a 12cm thick plate, x and z dimensions varying per plate. There are a few "decorative" plates that are 2-6cm thick, but their shape and size range is quite...
There's a hard-set 10% deadzone which is unusuably huge, and I don't really see how levers and the (purposefully) slow language of YOLOL could help fix it in any way.
Mouse Control needs fixes, by the devs. And if they feel inclined, maybe even communication with the community about these fixes.
Lifeline was, if I remember correctly, implemented in order to assist with situations when your endo would just teleport off your ship into the dark abyss randomly. I think it would be a fairly sensible guess that the developers will remove it once more networking issues are resolved - since as...
I would commit unspeakable acts for the mining gameplay loop to actually be fun and not "sit until you are in the belt, mine for a lil while, then sit until you are back at your station". However, I really haven't seen much of anything in the progress notes that will change this anytime soon...
I care about how much I make. Mining is so utterly boring that it has become a game of efficiency for me - making a ship that is a light as possible with as many crates as possible, being able to make the most efficient trips in order to maximize profit.
Risk is part of that. I WANT to be...
Also, even if I get blown up every say 10th run (that's an absurdly high rate, I know, but let's keep it for the sake of the point), I just need to make sure that my 9 runs before getting blown up are profitable enough to buy another copy of my ship + leave some money over as "net profit". Which...
If you're okay with miners adapting to being ambushed, why not passive sensors? What if I, as the pilot of a mining ship, want to make the decision of creating a miner with powerful sensor capability, so that I can see the person trying to hunt me before they can get to me? I could use this to...
An MMO lives and dies by how many players it has and how many it can retain for long periods of time. SB is no exception - the devs' vision is one of a large living and breathing universe filled with players interacting with each other in many different ways, from guns to tax sheets. Therefore...
