A filler of some form to place between plate gaps

I was thinking about how we could place some plates, and that they would likely get some glaring aesthetic problems if we sought to place the plates in odd or unforeseen ways. So my thought was, why not have a sealer or seam filler of some form. Not that it would have armor value, or even substance, but just something to smooth out these seams and give a nice, smooth, look across the gap.

Plus, if airtightness becomes a future thing we need to account for, having a seam filler would help those who didn't take it into account when they originally designed their ships would have a solution to adapt to the new game environment.

I think there will never be pressurization, because robots don't need to breathe.;)
