can't remove items from prebuilt ship

I am trying to unbolt and replace a couple of items on my ship.
I have verified all bolts removed, and it says the part is not attached to the frame on the durability tool.
It won't let me "e" to grab it or "p" to pick it up to inventory. When I press "p" it acts as though it was still attached and gives me the whole ships mass.

Bug or user error?
Any thoughts?

Have tried relogging and respawning ship.
Thanks for any insight.

Are there any pipes or cables running along it holding it down? You should see a red box outline when you try to grab the part if so, but you could also look with the pipe/cable tools.

it is outlined in red, but cannot pick it up. I don't think there is a pipe or cable as it's directly on the control panel board.

Ah, what's the part? I've seen similar sounding bugs with hybrid buttons sometimes where they can get slightly offset from the mounting and end up clipping inside it in such a way that there's no valid movement to disconnect them :-(

Might be worth an f1 in game if it's something like that.

two parts -one is the half size button, and the other is the fcuforward lever. neither will remove after unbolting.

what is an F1 in game?
