Different parts of space

Space is cool and all but what if there were different parts of space like nebulas that limit limit view range and could mess with sensors or neutron stars that could EMP your ship and maybe comets that drift thru space and have rare resources or gas giants with rings of asteroids and your ship gets crushed if you go in it, I hope there more things that can have a dynamic in space.
