Simple system to encourage PvP.

Upon destroying transponder & >50% of ships value receive 5% of ships fab cost in credits. If destroyed more than 3 ships or some set value your transponder is forced on and a bounty is placed on you worth 50% of the credits you have gained this way. Resetting weekly. Arbitrary figures feel free to balance however will encourage the most action.

I agree that bounties should be a major part of the game and will be helpful for encouraging pvp, but I think that this method is not as simple and grounded as it could be. Credits spawning out of the ether will encourage people to fight, but it will also alienate those who earn all their credits from other players [merchants, miners (although miners can sell to the station), etc.].

I think a much simpler way of garnering bounties would just be to tell players who killed them or destroyed their ships. This way, the bounty system can be much more organic and bounties would be paid by players. Bounties could also be way more than a particular target is worth to ensure the target's destruction since players name the price. Additionally, it promotes honorable pirating since pirates who are honorable (state their intention before shooting, are respectful of their defeated victims, etc.) will not create so much negative attention. The lack of negative attention then can lead to higher profitability as fewer bounty hunters harass them.

If you wanted to expand this even further to promote honorable behavior, then there could be a text channel added that is anonymous. This would only work if the name is stated upon ship and/or endo destroying. Pirates could remain un-named as long as they don't attack.

Perhaps verbal pvp is not what you want more of, but if pirates can flourish, then so can escort services and then you can get conflicts when the two meet.

Definitely not a good idea, would sink Dev time trying to deal with how all those details work in a way that actually doesn't backfire compared to just working on the features coming soon. Those features will help encourage PvP so might as well stay the course on what's already been/being worked on. The idea would be more complexed than how simple it's being offered (kill 3 ships/tps = forced tp on).

Don't care for game given intel either with some system that gives a player the name of their killer. How would this system even know if the kill was based on piracy to be giving over the name? How would that do anything for bounties or the pirate deciding to be a nicer pirate?

I think pvp will be improved when station siege is released into the main build. It would be a waste of time to start another project when a lot of features haven't even been implemented yet

I made a similar suggestion in another post of mine where I instead proposed allowing transponders to essentially work as black boxes, storing metrics such as distance traveled. There would then be special vendors that just buy looted transponders and pay out scaling with the transponder's travel distance. This would also have the double effect of giving long-lived ships prestige while also making seal clubbing very inefficient as their transponders wouldn't have as much distance as an experienced player.

Agreed, folks all around just need to chill and wait for the major features to drop! Too many are getting in a mode of "this big idea/change would fix the game" before allowing the game the chance to put in the big features coming soon!
