We have wrapped up Halloween 2020 in Starbase Closed Alpha, so we wanted to take a quick look at our first Halloween in-game. As Starbase development was focusing heavily on the bigger gameplay features that will be added in the future, we went with a small scale Halloween event.
Halloween Features of 2020
Halloween brought two new colors to the game: orange and black.
Additionally, we got a small limited-time Halloween ship shop. We had approached some of the ship builders that already had some added ships in the game and asked them to make some Halloween-appropriate creations for us. We ended up with three player-made ships suitable for space-bound trick-or-treating that were available in the shop.
Pumpkin Carving Event
In addition to the Halloween features, we hosted a surprise Pumpkin Carving event at Robur station on October 30th. We provided the pumpkins and asked for players to bring their own carving tools and join us on top of the Ship Designer building at Robur. The pumpkin design was donated by MelodyVT.
We want to thank everyone that participated in this peaceful event, as we managed to fill the space above the Robur ship designer with pumpkins of various kinds.
