I would personally hope for some sort of in-game map system, having something external is not something I would enjoy, I'd want to keep it centralized as much as possible.
I hope that is the case, skill-based is the most fun types of games in my opinion. A game where your skill in something really matters I mean and transfers well in the game.
it may be too far off for what your plan is. For instance, if you are a long way from the nearest safe station and your vessel is relatively safe where it is, and you want it to continue processing materials and such during the night then you can just leave it.

I believe if I'm not incorrect, it was ab it since I watched it, I believe it was shown in the trailer for the release, in the corridor, also in the weapon showcases and not only the newest gameplay.
