That would be naive lol
Trust no one
Especially online
And even more so in a cut throat competitive game lol
I'm am having many debates In private and public chat about this
Many people tell me they believe yolol should be left unlocked explicitly because they want to steal it
Eg. "But if...
Got response from mod.. says the devs have it in pipeline but no eta.. so looks like it's probably coming at some point
Well from the people who have talked to me about this since I got involved it seems like there is
a silent majority who want it but are just waiting to see what happens
And...
Awesome
Thank you very much
Knowing it's in the pipeline will help motivate me even more to keep building.. the knowledge that one day I can sell my stuff is very motivating
It would also be really cool if locked chips were given visible unique IDs so they are identifiable
Eg.. when I lock a chip i can give it a unique name or ID.
That way there is a secondary market
People can buy/sell old or stolen locked chips without worrying the seller is lying about what...
Thank you.. I love yolol.. great work on creating an awesome puzzle game
Any chance it can become a multiplayer economy game for me too?
Just add a feature to lock and protect the chips and I can start printing and selling copies to all the people who really want it for their bases and...
I am sorry
I really wish I could.
But on a matter of principle...
Until us coders get protection for our works it will only exist in my ssc as something I created personally for the fun of the challenge
I REALLY want to participate in the starbase economy with coding.. and I will martyr...
Interesting.. I did not know that.. still the "hidden code" sabotage is still easily done by hiding a yolol chip deep inside the ship.. so locking code doesnt really increase the possibility of yolol sabotage
Yeah. I really hope they add it, cause then I, and others, could sell our yolol...
Not allowing shared ship yolol to be editable by mon owner.. and preferably not viewable, is a step in the right direction..
Arguments for why code should be unlockable can be equally applied to ship bp..
Eg.
We should be able to just click on any ship and have a button "copy ship bp".. this...
For 1. Sure there would be that risk. But I imagine the market would not like locked yolol in their ship. A ship with x value would be devalued by buyers if there was locked yolol. And I doubt the devs would put locked yolol in the shops.. and buying from players already has this risk but...
Finally!!!!!!
5 player Texas holdem poker table
This was a BEAST of a project..
Took way longer than I expected..
But it works
Single deck, no repeat draws
Fully random drawing
Privacy for each players private cards
Betting and bank system
Hand value and winner evaluation
All the full rule...
Maybe you should refrain from going ad hominem.
Expressing frustration is one thing.
But lazy and empty ad hominem garbage is so juvenile and has no bearing on the discussion/debate
This response is just insulting and the kind of stuff that devolves into flame wars
First you say
"pirates need to be able to steal yolol"
Which is against the rule anyways
Next you say right to repair
Which I show is a false equivalency argument
Now you say "yolol is a service, not a product"
Seriously.. that is getting dumb
Yolol is just a service.. are you kidding me...
Can everyone please stop equating "Abilty to lock yolol" with "all yolol is locked"
The market will prefer buying unlocked yolol..
so the ship price will be devalued if yolol is locked
Ship sellers will only lock something if the value of a custom script is worth protecting so much that it...
Why is his work designing a ship protected IP with market value.. but my 100 hours of investment (so far) building a texas holdem poker table no economic value?
Ability to lock yolol is not the same as all yolol is locked..
Locked chips will devalue a ship.. sellers will leave yolol unlocked...
Agreed
I was only pointing out that the cost/benefit of those 9k who joined is something like you pointed out
Ie.
They needed those signup to get a but of cash flow, prove to potential investors there is interest, etc
But from the sole perspective of those 9k players who came and left
Some...
This would be cool..
Although I personally would still want to be able to flip a setting on chips in the ssc so I can design my system.. then lock it.. and sell the bp
The fact that yolol code can be copied means it needs to be handled differently than ship bp
Why do people keep saying stuff like this.. if you want access to all your chips.. then dont buy locked yolol.. easy fix..
no one would be forcing you to buy locked yolol chips..
There are 2...
