    Space combat is primitive?

This post is ONLY for anybody else reading this thread who has not gotten into CA but is wonder what combat in the game is like and if simply lining up a sight with another ship and clicking a button is boring. So here goes. A few days ago during an event I was chasing Siga in my Mantis over...

Why a wipe after EA may actually be bad for newbies and the game

I believe I have personally witnessed the devs say that personal blueprints will not be wiped (they are stored locally anyways, would be childsplay to restore them) If blueprints are not wiped then putting ships back in the ship shop for the builders would also be done completely within an hour...

    Space combat is primitive?

Wait, you don't even fly the ships in eve?!? What was it a top down strategy game?

    Space combat is primitive?

Even the big ships? How horrible. Glad I skipped it.

    Space combat is primitive?

I only played Empyrion but it is very similar. Gravity effects you more if there is any where you are fighting than Empyrion ever did. Turrets are more hands on than going through a menu. No auto-systems running things for you, more hands on. Not sure what you mean by depth. Maybe an MMO...

    The Problem with Capital ships...

I think a lot of worry about caps will disappear after we (hopefully) get to test them in events before EA. Once any of our fears are settled we can try to explain it to others and we might even have some success.

    Space combat is primitive?

Don't knock it till you try it. The videos do not do the space combat justice.

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 18 (2021)

Of course not, I have moved on. Just without friends to play with. At all.

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 18 (2021)

Regardless of blame the lack of invites has held up not just the play/test time of those who would have gotten in to the game as new players but the time that some of us in groups like mine would have been willing to play to play with our org members who we were waiting to play with coming in...

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 18 (2021)

I really hope the next events have capital ship to starbase boarding action to test for us.

Why a wipe after EA may actually be bad for newbies and the game

Yea I have got like a billion credits in ships in all the SSC's scattered throughout the game. Probably about 220k credits from the last event alone. I blew up most of them but still plenty left. I can't imagine the devs letting us keep all that for release. Blueprints sure, ships in the...

Getting Around the Universe and Tedium

Just using them as an example since they are one of if not the biggest orgs active right now. I have only encountered them at the events and they were very friendly other than all the shooting. If our little Silverlight group ever merges with anybody it would probably be them.

Getting Around the Universe and Tedium

If they really do eventually allow players to set up warp gates then traveling will almost be a non-issue. Almost. Player made "starbases" are surrounded by a 1-2km safe zone and I would assume the gates would too. Otherwise the MASSIVE amount resources required to setup both the base and...

Getting Around the Universe and Tedium

Most of the places you want to go currently in the game (where you can actually do things) require less than an hour of travel time. There is also currently an insurances system that allows instant travel of yourself and your possessions but not your ships. For "hardcore" high end mining there...

How does the Saltberia prison work?

Player run prison? It would be entertaining, but pretty horrific at the same time. Maybe if we set up viewing stations so we can all watch.....

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 15 (2021)

Gas harvesting soon it seems. Mining backpack just got a lot more useful for field repairs which I love. Not sure what those are in the third image, straps maybe to bolt down?

    Gunships

Mouse control and more than 1 type of tripod weapon. Autocannon, Laser and missile launcher would be awesome. Or all the current ship weapons on a tripod would be great but not likely to happen.
