    Demolition job 2.0

This is a fact, FB have confirmed months ago that this will get changed, but its on the back-burner. At some point, you will be required to have line of sight to the outside of the ship. We don't know to what degree they need to not be covered, but it is coming. This was confirmed several times...

Paper-thin and Tungsten-heavy: Armor Discussion Thread

-Right now higher voxel volume makes the voxel damage get scaled lower. this is universally accepted as bad and needing removal. -Many people still think that the time between no damage impacts and doing voxel damage, should also not scale based on voxel volume of the part. this one is a bit...

Mouse Control - just one request

Kiiyo is correct. Yes, at launch there was NO deadzone, and the lever defined the deadzone. AS IT SHOULD. A hotfix in the first month of EA added a hardcoded deadzone that can not be worked around without using yolol to change 10-100 to be 0-100, as a percentage. It is possible, but slow and...

Mouse Control - just one request

pretty much. Star citizen for all its issues is a good example of mouse control done right. some of these come from there: 1: Relative mode is where the ship tries its best to behave like a first person shooter, where it maps 1:1 with your mouse movements themselves, much like controlling the...

A question about "local power" on weapons.

.. But power and data go over the same line, so if that line is severed you can't fire, and even if you could its a few shots at most, and passive draw drains what is left in seconds???

    love the new vokarium

A question about "local power" on weapons.

This is because local power for devices, including rail capacitors, have an insane maximum power draw rate, and if there is power in the ship, they fill it. For this reason, there is really no point using the capacitors on anything that is not mission critical, because its just a dedicated...

PTU Update 25.3.2022 (PTU Build 830)

now 15k energy/s to tow a 200c miner... That WAS 30k power to tow a 600c miner.. which is more than that miner will produce. Now its 50k. Thats insane O_O You DO realize the lightest materials in SB are the roughly density of iron IRL and we use 12 CENTIMETER thick plates right? And they are...

Loss of a ship in the green belt

There was an old bug where ships would move themselves up to 5km when loaded in. People would park at stations, relog, and then the ship was 'gone' but actually some 4-5km away. I have even see it where I flew to the station, saw the ship in question, overshot the station, turned around, and the...

Loss of a ship in the green belt

Strange indeed, if you were in-belt it should be out of gravity, and if nobody is within 1-km of the ship (IE your connection dropped) gravity has no affect anyways, because its done by hosting the ship.

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 11 (2022) - Player station insight

I certainly hope Seiges are not planned to hit live before the combat overhauls and mous aim. If we do, we are going to see a few people that invested time now knowing their kit was going to be throwaway when the reworks hit (that were expected to be happening at the end of 2021 so not many did)...

The speed of the ship suddenly decreased

Check your ghost inevtory. When you pick items up, it can go into your characters ghost inventory, a phantom inventory that can only be accessed at origin sales terminals. I had a corp member have so many things in their inventory they noticed they could only go 130m/s with a ship known to go...

PASSIVE SENSOR TYPES | How to find stuff & a reason to multi-crew

Totally true, for both sides: because this is NOT adequate, and I would quit playing as an attacker, out of feeling bad for them, and being bored out of my mind. Custom items can have five objects, so yes, a chair + 4 levers, and then the remaining levers can be done in two items.

PASSIVE SENSOR TYPES | How to find stuff & a reason to multi-crew

Nope, because 1: you won't find them 2: most time is spend flying not mining so people don't sit still for more than a minute or two tops 3: fog often masks them even if you could see them 4: even if you find one and have enough time to close the gap, and don't noticed - jumping on their ship...

PASSIVE SENSOR TYPES | How to find stuff & a reason to multi-crew

This is what makes DayZ and Tarkov so interesting. As long as I have even a handgun, I can kill you with a headshot. Every encounter poses a threat. Crash bars. As long as the physics works correctly(doesn't phase), a crash barrier made of beams can exploit the mechanics behind collision damage...
