For the love of Bob please move the Starbase Channel in Discord.

There's not more to discuss here. Prayer's suggestion came to pass and may help in the long run. Either way, I think it's a good thing to have happened.

Can the next showcase video be about the "blocks" we can use?

The basic stuff like hinges and etc are already available on the wiki. For example, hinges: https://wiki.starbasegame.com/index.php/Hinges

Make starbase unique, not another game with the MMO tag slapped on

Your argument almost seems inapplicable to Starbase though... Starbase is a single shared universe game, akin to Eve, not to any of the other games you mentioned. It's not possible to have a split player base across community servers, because community servers simply don't exist.

Make starbase unique, not another game with the MMO tag slapped on

A lot of the PvE and NPC stuff you're describing just leads to it being "another game with the MMO tag slapped on it". What makes Starbase unique is that it is at its core a sandbox of human interaction. I don't think they should add features that detract from that experience. Eve has proven...

    Server Locations

Starbase uses a fancy hybrid peer-to-peer networking system. So there's no real "server location" as with other games. The server location is simply wherever the players are.

    YOLOL Code Marketing

When it comes down to it, the code itself won't be the most important part. Each yolol script will be quite simple, but it's the overall system they're a part of that's far more complicated. The knowledge and skill to put together the system will become invaluable, whereas the code itself may...

Glad to see people wanting to use Yolo in more positive ways lol

Yolol is surprisingly positioned to be mostly used for constructive things rather than destructive things. Large-scale operations of war powered by yolol just isn't feasible within the game. But a large-scale internet? Surprisingly possible. So I think we'll do some pretty awesome stuff. But...

Cylon: the Collaborative Yolol Learning Open Network

On the internet of course! The knowledge repository already exists, it's our github repository: https://github.com/Jerald/yolol-is-cylons

[Tool] Yoloxide Web: a mostly functional web-based Yolol emulator!

I've talked to my front-end guy about it. Originally he made the decision since his thought process went "case doesn't matter, therefore make only lowercase allowed". I disagreed at the time, but let it slide anyway. I've since talked to him about the thought process of "case doesn't matter...

    World position/ Мировые координаты [EN/RU]

Yonder is the overall name for the network project. It's also the name for the reference implementation we're planning to have built in-game. So yes, we're working on our own network :P As for displays and graphics, there's not much we can do with the limited display interfaces that exist in...

    World position/ Мировые координаты [EN/RU]

Realistically, all there is to do at this point is theoretical. Even if we write Yolol to power it, without the ability to test it, I'd still call it theoretical. That said, we do have a reasonable amount of work done for the project. We've designed the base-level protocol to handle the...

Introducing Starbase YOLOL Editor : A Starbase-themed text editor for YOLOL

Considering I just opened powershell and made a new file on my work computer where I have no semblance of admin privileges, I think they're aware. As I've said, this is in no way a personal attack, I'm just a fellow developer concerned for those who are less savvy. That said, your...

Introducing Starbase YOLOL Editor : A Starbase-themed text editor for YOLOL

As I said, while I disagree in principle it's not really terrible or anything. But what is terrible is requiring admin privileges. From discussing with experienced developers who have used the same frameworks as Vexus, there's no reason that admin privileges should be required. That itself...

Introducing Starbase YOLOL Editor : A Starbase-themed text editor for YOLOL

While I can understand it being a hassle, it's for the safety of everyone using this software that it's released open source. Though I consider it too much of a hassle myself to push for, I'd argue that it shouldn't be allowed to post closed-source software on the forum. The chance for abuse...

Introducing Starbase YOLOL Editor : A Starbase-themed text editor for YOLOL

Ling is correct, there's no official Yolol toolings yet to be released. That said, in Cylon we've been focusing on developing open-source community tools and development standards, for the purpose of making a better Yolol development experience for everyone. So far we have a number of emulators...

Introducing Starbase YOLOL Editor : A Starbase-themed text editor for YOLOL

Is this going to be open sourced or anything...? On a general rule I'm against downloading and running arbitrary binaries from internet people if they're not open source. Are there any plans to add interoperability via the Yolol standards we have in Cylon? This seems like a pretty interesting...

    World position/ Мировые координаты [EN/RU]

This system would require a lot of research and development into the technological infrastructure needed to be usable. As I mentioned in your original thread, we in Cylon have been working on that stuff for quite a while. As for your suggestion, that is fundamentally the same basis as what...

Anyone understand how YOLOL is going to work?

No problem :) Sorry if I came across harsh, I've spent a lot of time dealing with the whole "Yolol is like Lua" thing so I may be slightly annoyed by it at this point...

[Tool] Yoloxide Web: a mostly functional web-based Yolol emulator!

Spawning out of our hard work in Cylon, I'm working on a mostly functional Yolol emulator! Keep in mind it's quite alpha, and regularly has issues. If you encounter one of these issues, please let me know here or in the Cylon discord. Features include: Editing code! Running code! Setting data...
