I think some of your points are valid; not sure about all of them. I made a similar post (not quite as negative) a few years before you.
Since that post, and through to the current planned updates, many things have changed.
* Repairs are now possible to do relatively painlessly.
* They...
It's important to note that 90% of these updates are not done by the devs; they're done by the player that created the original ship. If you want to know what was corrected, contact the player that submitted the ship to the ship shop and ask them, in-game or on the Starbase discord.
Sometimes things you don't like still improve the overall game. Not every convenience is beneficial. I'm not saying that THIS convenience harms the game, I'm just saying that your argument 'nobody likes it' is a pretty weak one... you can do better.
Nobody likes going to the Dentist, getting a...
Thank you for these bugfixes, I really appreciate it... there are few things more discouraging than to lose a ship deep in the belt because of weird bugs like the fuel rod one you describe, or being unable to refill stuff via crafting (but your ore get eaten regardless).
So did I, but given the choice between fixing serious problems (such as ships moving on their own out in the belt, or prop/fuel vanishing leaving ships dead in the water) or adding beam welds, I'm not too upset that they chose a different priority.
Excellent! Loading up the PTU now.
I'm happy that we have an electricity cost to autocannons, they were tuned a little hot as far as capability and cost goes.
I'm onboard, as long as a solution also exists for plates; without welded plates, I use attachment plates to extend plates in odd angles. But it's a very manual and tedious process; I'd gladly drop it in favor of a better solution.
Cost. They stated that capital ships will be between 10 and 1000 times more costly for the same size. That's like saying 'if I could get a Rolls Royce limo, why would I ever buy a Honda?'
I like how part recycling is going to be handled... I was wondering how we would recover materials from parts that contained multiple different materials. I thought maybe we would only get the highest-quantity material.
Now it'll vaporize the whole thing, and we'll need to carefully separate...
You skipped the 'full potential' part of the quote. A single plasma can support five or six superconductors, and that's enough to drive a 800M voxel ship at full speed. Using two smaller plasma thrusters is just a waste of voxels, since you add a ton of voxel overhead but it doesn't add more...
They want to release by the end of March (Q1). I'm not sure it's the best plan; I think the early game isn't polished enough for that yet. But we'll see what they do.
Nobody replied, and I'm not a dev, but I'd like to note that it's unlikely anyone would object; gamma and color correction are client preferences. They can often be done right in the display driver's settings. So while any client-side alteration of the running code could trip up automated cheat...
I know everyone is lamenting the power consumption gains, but I know 'better power generation' is on the menu, so I'm not terribly worried. We'll have a few months of nerfed exploration, but I think it'll balance out in the end.
This game is majestic. No other way to put it.
I do like that traveling to the moon takes real time, but I do wish that your velocity on the trip followed a logarithmic curve instead of being linear... with an acceleration and deceleration to retain a sense of motion over the entire trip. It...
There are many frustrating features of the editor that should be improved; despite that, the editor is actually one of the most complete and well done parts of the game, and that means that many players get defensive about it.
Plating could be improved by allowing users to generate any size of...
