Dedicated station with Central Hub (no ships allowed)

So, the idea is to dedicate a single station with no ships (for performance purposes)

In that station, endos can dance/chat/have fun/ just watch on other endos. All endos from universe can gather here, therefore it should be only one place (to not distribute people).

Maybe in the future, add more little entertainment things, like minigames etc.

What you think?

I could see this as something like a separate universe that can be entered instead of the main one, similar to other games that have lobbies with doors to join different games or areas of the game.

I do worry that such a dedicated place will reduce the natural social interactions at the origin stations that have led to some of my favorite moments in the game.

If there has to be a station with no ships for some sort of "performance" boost, just to allow socialising, then the game is sunk.

Now the initial rush has faded, and concurrent Endo numbers are closer to where they'll be for the rest of Alpha, you make me think that maybe the playerbase should be concentrated more, though.

In a game that's built for ship-v-ship and endo-v-endo combat, with no PvE content planned at all, I think that devs providing entertainment and minigames are so unlikely as to not even be worth considering. They're a small development team and are going to have their hands full just making the actual core of the game work, let alone such peripheral systems.

That's not to say such things can't be done by players in YOLOL. I think I saw a "Connect-4" game the other day in a Reddit thread. Eventually, you might get someone building a "pleasure steamer" with roulette wheels/slots and card games. Maybe.

because you need share access to the ship, ship can be stolen/damaged etc

I believe the social policies would prohibit such actions in the safe zone. So anyone who did vandalise or attempt to take the ship would be subject to sanction.

Not in a safe zone it won't be. Allowing access to the stations zone doesn't mean they can steal your ships.

i always wanted to build a station that i could turn on and off the safe zone rules for personal station in the pvp zone, since your station can only be attacked during a siege, and host gladiator fights! or make a factory arena that allowed me to turn on and off the pvp safety locks for fights.

While I don't think the devs are going to want to provide "arenas in safespace" where you can PvP "for the love of combat", I think they'd be overjoyed if players did.
