Imagine this.

You are doing your normal tasks that the manager of your work division tasks you with in that big faction you are apart of. Repairing, moving cargo, the same boring thing. Then the red alert sounds.

"Enemy incoming!"

You hear the orders to man your ships and the turrets to defend your station. The enemy is spotted... a few medium sized fighters, can't be more than 5. Suicide mission? Regardless, they are the enemy and you are the defender of this base. You man your defenses and get ready to fire. *Click* Nothing happens. The power was cut. Then all you hear are explosions. All you see is fire and salvage surrounding you. You realize quickly all your stations ships and defenses have been critically wounded by multiple blasts. How? When? Who? You ask yourself. Doesn't matter, you still have your arms and legs, and a working side arm issued by your faction. Before you could even pull it out, you are decommissioned. Your exoskeleton lying motionless on the floor next to all the debris. You sit their in anger as you KNOW you could have done something else, you are skilled enough to be able to defend, but that big faction you joined has rules... strict rules and ranks.

Your thousands of hours in competitive shooters lead to you being the maintenance man for some big faction. A faction that just lets anyone join. Regardless of experience or skill set. Instead... you could have been the one tasked with cutting the wires to the turrets, and setting the explosives up on all the ships... but you chose a faction with hundreds of people that all lack coordination... you could have become a member of G.O.S.T.S... you could have been one of those few people attacking the base, and winning too. But it's okay... go on doing your mundane tasks. Well be waiting for your to feel safe. Then hit you before you even realized what has happened.
