As the title says, a variant of each hall were the frame is invisible and has no hitbox.
Why does it matter?
Well, imagine Origin landing zones with a frame around them. Visually, not that attractive.
Same goes for station/caps (altough on caps, you might not want to have exposed hangars). When designing a landing zone, a hangar that has more than one open side or a hangar that is half way embedded in the building. We will have corners that stick out and kinda ruin the esthetics.
How could it get implemented?
Placing and aligning an object that is not visible is kinda impossible. So a toggleable overly for the designer that makes each invisible hall piece visible and for outside the designer, when holding an invisible hall object all invisible hall parts are rendered. Similar to the way the capital ship dock corner hall are only rendered when holding a corner module.
No hitbox to don't limit creativity and usability. Overlay detection should only check for halls of the same type.
This would allow to place parts were the hall objects would be. To build landing zones we can find on dev stations. (Well we don't have those decals but that's a different subject)
What impact would it has?
Most important, better looking hangar halls - better halls in general.
Remove/reduce vulnerability of hangars during siege events. Currently, if one hangar piece is destroyed, the hangar is disabled and can't be used for the rest of the siege. With invisible hall objects that wouldn't happen because they don't have a hitbox. This would shift the weakpoint torwards the terminal. What in my opinion, is not a big problem because it would make sieges last longer what might be a good thing.
