Misalignment gaps and warp travel

I've built a ship that is almost done now, and when plating the last bits, I notice a tiny gap in the armour. I investigate the source and it seems I've had a small misalignment with one beam that has propagated through the whole ship. I've spent about 150hours designing this ship now, and even if I spend a few days fixing the alignments I don't know if I will catch them all. I understand that radiation during warp travel is not a thing yet, but the wiki states that:

There should not be any gaps on the exterior plating of the ship, otherwise radiation gets through during warp travel
How bad is a gap like this going to be? When is radiation supposed to be added to the game?

Given what a bear putting plating on "interesting" hull shapes is, I hope it's not much of a problem, or the only ships we'll see going through warp will be rectilinear. Which would make me sad.
