I have no doubt that many other ship designers have been infuriated by the lack of a mirror function when designing ships.
It would make symmetrical builds take near half the time it currently does to make with a mirror function.
Devs, please add one.
Either a system where a line is put down the middle of the designer, and whatever you build on one side is copied and inverted on the other side,
Or an option to make a mirror copy of a selection (this seems like the easier to implement option).
This would make designing ships much faster, and make the ship designer less daunting for new players trying to get into ship making.
Quite simply, the sheer time investment required to design a ship is a notable hurdle in making one. A mirror function would significantly reduce that hurdle.
And before someone says "just copy and rotate," that doesn't work on parts invoving angled work.
