please copy this shit ASAP starbase devs

imagine this kind of technology, combining with the progressive ideas you guys are already bringing to the table in regards to the global server, dynamic peer to peer servers generated within global server to handle smaller battles etc, and allowing for massive numbers of ships to be rendered at once in a huge battle.

But just imagine how realistic you could make the game look with this kind of tech, they seem to be making some kind of PORTAL on their game's mesh, and STREAMING high quality assets from blender or zbrush directly into the game in real time, without the need for bumpmaps because the global illumination ACTUALLY INTERACTS WITH THIS PORTAL STREAMED ASSET

we NEED THIS IN STARBASE ENGINE IT WOULD BE AMAZING :O :O :O :O

I think that that would be awesome too, but they are using an in-house engine. I doubt porting would be very viable at this point. :(

Yep, they're using an in-house system. Starbase is about spaceships with detailed destruction, not graphics. As hyped as I am for UE5, it's not Starbase's goal, not yet at least.
