How does the StarBase ship market exactly work? Is it just a simple catalog of various ships, with a pricetag, or more of a local market, where people have to physically visit a store?

* How does quantity work, if there is any? Do you have to build a ship before you can sell one? Say you build 5 identical ships, does that mean that now you have 5 of those ships in stock, which you can sell, or is it just selling blueprints that you designed so the other fella can build it? Or perhaps both?
* What info is there available on these ships? Is it just a pricetag, or more expansive?

I've thought of a sort of "StarBase marketplace". A website or server that is dedicated to the advertisement of goods & services. Need some mercenaries to protect your convoy? Look, a mercenary group is advertising on the marketplace! Want to sell a ship, but can't get people to buy them? Put up an ad on the marketplace! Want more info on a particular ship, like fuel efficiency? Look it up on the marketplace! Would such a 3rd-party sort of "organisation" be beneficial, or just end up being useless?

On another note: How about a stock market?

To answer this question from an economic perspective. The existence of the market exists due to the needs of buyers. In other words, as long as customers have requirements, any market can exist. The same is true in Starbase. You can even create a joint-stock company for others to invest in, which will create the stock market economy in the game. You can even sell gas from the gaseous planet of EOS (as long as you can flicker other people agree to buy ...)

Again, this doesn't answer my question(s)

There are at least non-player dealerships with ships that you can physically look over before you buy them - you can see one, including an early mockup of the ship info UI, in the video below.

Both physical ships and blueprints will be tradable in some capacity. I don't think the details are finalized.

Sure sounds like a better option compared to spamming (or shifting through the spam in) trade/advertising chat channels.
