T3 thruster Efficency Upgrades require Xalium???

So is this an over site from the closed alpha. The rest of the T3 thrusters can be built using what we have in game. Can this get changed or is it intentional? Seems a bit over kill to me to require this for just a 5% upgrade to efficency.

It's not a 5% increase in efficiency either, that number goes up the higher the total gets.

For example to make math easy, imagine you've got an 80% reduction in fuel use, you boost that by 10% to 90%. You haven't increased efficiency by 10%, you've doubled it.

They're right to be careful with linear stacking boosters like this (this is why so many MMOs do that wierd exponential reduction/diminishing returns thing, it's not actually diminishing returns, it's just the way math works)
