Tech tree and crafting - Major economic issue.

Crafting and tech tree should be reworked. People complain that it is too grindy or too long to craft. In my opinion it's way too easy and actually has wrong approach. At this point in the game players are able to craft almost everything they need themselves without any need for the market or industry. Prices will just keep going down because everyone is selling and not many people buying. There will be no economy or industry. In that state Starbase could become singleplayer or just local multiplayer with friends and you wouldn't notice a difference.
Games with proper MMO and economies like EVE Online have economies thriving because most of the stuff is locked for you and you need to specialise in very specific things.
In Starbase people should be allowed to easily craft only most basic stuff for themselves, things you need to actually keep ur ship flying like tools, maybe fuel rods and crafting everything else or even getting an ability to do so should be very hard earned. And it shouldn't be completely made in a tech tree style, players should be able to choose what they want to specialise in, maybe apart from closely related stuff like T2 thrusters after T1 thrusters.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

I'm still a noob with just 2 days played, but feel like I could craft everything within a week or so.
But it is still early days I guess so they could completely revamp the economy.

100% agree. First week in I haven't even done that much grinding and I'm already done the entire station tree. I think people don't realize how effective it is to craft something then sell it back and buy enough mats for 50% of the first haul.

The tech tree itself is not the main issue, as the final steps are heavy to achieve for solo players. What worries me now is the fact that you can print any ship in the ship design without making any crafts, in fact it looks like you can print parts that nobody is able to make yet (lamps for example).

Yeah I think the tech tree is less important to the grand schemes of end-game content which relies mostly on company vs company running huge capital ships.
I've realised that it's probably there to help players learn the game a little by running through that tree and by the end of it you're an experienced endo.

From a dev response on another thread it seems like they are going to be doing daily and/or weekly content that provokes player interaction for a short time leading into more developed strategy.

As long as people are interacting and focusing on their inherent style the economy is fine.
It would and probably should organically develop.
