Update 5.11.2020 (Alpha 284)

New features
  • Buying ships from Ship Designer now requires ore materials, and credits for the assembly cost
  • Autobolting has been added to in-universe Bolt Tool
  • "Auction Menu" keybind has been added for opening Auction House anywhere at Origin station (default bind ",")
Animations
  • Bolt Tool
    • Added 1st person sprint animations
    • Polished 1st person carry and lowered state animations
  • Rail Gun
    • Polished 1st person ADS left and right running animation
  • Rocket Launcher
    • Added 1st person sprint, ADS fire and ADS equip animations
    • Polished several 1st person animations
  • Pickaxe
    • Added new 1st person running animations
  • Plasma Rifle
    • Polished several 1st person animations
    • Tweaked 1st person ADS pose
Armor
  • Tweaked Toxine colors
Asteroids
  • Fixed asteroid derelicts causing duplicate asteroids appearing after a host change
  • Fixed extra asteroid LODs remaining visible in some cases
  • Fixed asteroid LODs not being detected by Rangefinders
Auction House
  • Fixed not being able to create auctions if the inventory was full
  • Fixed not being able to open the Auction House from an interface button with F when weapon was raised
  • Fixed categories in Buy tab not changing if an item was selected
  • Added "Auction Menu" keybind to open the Auction House

  • Added two new Auction House terminals to Marketplace
  • Removed unused Auction House terminals from other Marketplaces than Origin

  • Added window close sound to Settings and Insurance Transfer menu
  • Added Paint Tool sounds
Chat
  • Added a more visible arrow to context menu's "Visible channels" button
Economy
  • Fixed wrong Ore Collectors being sold in Marketplace shops
Effects
  • Changed Plasma Cannon's hit effect back to the original one due to performance issues
  • Updated explosion effects
  • Reticles
    • Fixed reticle flickering
    • Plasma Rifle and Rail Gun reticles now communicate when you can fire the weapon
    • Minor tweaks for Rocket Launcher's reticle position
Gameplay
  • Changed the default backpack for new players to Mining Backpack
  • Fixed grabbing Advanced Turret Cradle breaking connections to attached weapons
  • Fixed not being able to grab some items with F
  • Sprinting
    • Prevented ADS while sprinting
    • Added leaning during turns
    • Fixed sprinting not working during auto-run
Network
  • Fixed uploads failing after exiting the game, if the connection quality was poor
Renderer
  • Added first steps for optimizing the gas giant renderer
Ships
  • Fixed a voxel damage related crash when multiple ships were flying nearby
Ship Designer

  • Fixed autobolting using only two bolts per plate
  • Changed "Propellant Tank Body" to "Propellant Tank"

Tools
  • Bolt Tool
    • Added single object autobolting
    • Holding Mouse Button 1 starts automatically bolting the target object
    • Holding Mouse Button 2 removes bolts from the target
  • Universal Tool
    • Added tooltips to durability tool buttons in Blueprint Tab
Universe
  • Increased Origin safe zone dimensions to 350x200x80km
  • Added a mini safe zone to Proving Grounds Station

We have entered a development phase where significant changes are coming in every major patch. These may have a big impact on your gameplay and we are sorry about the inconvenience and possible frustration! Through these updates, the game is starting to come together and pieces are falling into place. We hope that this is also visible to all our players and everybody who follows the game. Regardless we will continue to try and notify our Closed Alpha players of the biggest incoming changes the best we can.

This is a great update! I'm very excited to see how people react to the new SSC system! I personally have been working to get my ship done and only bought it ~12 minutes ago (the update starts in 3 minutes according to the ingame prompts)

This is a great looking patch - can't wait to try it. Good to see so many bug fixes for issues I have run into. Thanks FB, some real quality of life stuff in here as well as the much needed ore-sink!
