Update 7.4.2021 (Alpha 411)

New Features and Major Updates
  • Landing pad added to Moon City
  • Ship Designer voxel limit increased from 800 000 kv to 1 600 000 kv
  • Cargo capacity added to Ship Designer building budget
  • Multiple server fixes
  • New parts selection list added to material cost box
    • Allows items in station storage to be used for ship purchase

Known Issues
  • Game crashes when a client attempts to move ship ore with context menu transfer from ship to station storage
  • Tutorial phase will reset if player relogs during it

Patch Notes

Animations
  • Added new unarmed prone-to-stand transition animation
  • 1st person pistol relaxed and carry animations now practice trigger discipline
  • Added new thumbs up emote to /thumbsup
    • Older thumbs up emotes can be used with /thumbsup2
  • Fixed Rail Gun's 3rd person reload animation not looking correct
Audio
  • Fixed Bolt Tool audio in cursor mode
  • Device status dependent sounds for following devices: Printers, flight computers, batteries, generators and YOLOL chips
  • City music now uses totally new kind of playback system
  • New logic and sounds for ship acceleration
Devices
  • Triangle and Box thrusters now have 20% of their thrust tied to their nozzle parts
  • Fixed buttons staying stuck after unbolting
  • Thrusters operate only in a valid part chain to a ship frame
  • YOLOL chip zoom now ends when chip is grabbed or moves
  • YOLOL chip cannot be interacted with when in backpack slot anymore
  • Ship Diagnostic Scanner now broadcasts durability errors and warp class to network
Effects
  • Updated all explosive container VFX for improved chain reaction behavior
  • Optimization of remote explosive VFX when multiple detonations are combined
Fast Travel
  • Fixed collision of Cargo Frame walls being offset during fast travel
Gameplay
  • Allows boots to lock on Cargo Frame fields
  • Fixed audio device causing player to disconnect from a server and making ship unspawnable when placed next to a panel base
  • Fixed chair stands not acknowledging tool interaction settings
  • Fixed quickbar multipart object placement not working
GUI
  • Spamming transferring large batches of ore back and forth between backpack and station storage will eventually lock storage items until transfer is completed
  • Now automatic collecting activates on M1 press & release instead of just release
Inbox
  • An option to show previews of mail attachments in the inbox has been added
Inventory
  • Fixed ore cubes being up to 214605 times heavier than they should have been when in personal inventory
Lot Designer
  • Lot Designer's medium halls' old windows have been updated with the new ones
Moon
  • Landing pad added next to Moon City
    • Ships may shake when landed on the landing pads
    • Despawn areas are a bit inconsistent in size inside the instance area
    • Ships spawn intentionally outside the landing pad
    • Moon City landing pad used at own risk, success results may vary
  • Crouching and going prone on planets is now possible
Ships
  • Fixed ship durability scanning causing client magboots to get detached and stop working
  • Allow Thruster Nozzle to increase max thrusts of Basic ship thrusters
Ship Designer
  • Added new parts selection list to material cost box that allows choosing items in station storage to be used for ship purchase discounts
  • Added max cargo volume to building budget window
  • Voxel volume limit has been increased from 800 000 kv to 1 600 000 kv
  • Fixed an error when exiting Ship Designer with decals still selected
  • Mostly disable Thrusters while device logic is disabled (for example, Plasma Thrusters should no longer charge in Ship Designer)
  • Fixed Thrusters not being active enough to allow correct Durability results in Ship Designer

  • Fixed lot ship despawn areas being created even when the lots do not exist yet
Tools
  • Changed how auto-building logic works
  • Fixed framerate drop issues when inspecting ore cube, which has been bolted to a ship, with universal tool
  • Fixed reloadable tools sometimes requiring a reload even when already loaded
Transponders
  • Fixed insideSafeZone -field not working correctly
Tutorial
  • Improvements to the Demolition Job tutorial phase
  • Edited Demolition Job tutorial texts

Ooo, this is big. I look forward to the huge ships coming soon. They'll just have to watch out for that pipe limit.

Does this look anything like my idea (which may have actually been your idea):
For ease of development, couldn't the current thrusters be used but have different component variations that provide different amounts of thrust, effectively filling many roles in the same form-factor.

Maybe you could have really expensive parts that push way harder than their cheaper counterparts. I'm sure many of you out there would be willing to pay 10-20 million for a box thruster that is 5x more powerful.

For balance, the better components could be more expensive, like FCUs and tradeoff between thrust, fuel consumption, energy consumption, fuel type, acceleration time etc.

It would only take a new color scheme, some dials tweaked, and updating the shops for this to be added.

Finally. I'd rather not embarrass myself again by getting into fights in the safe zone.
