What kind of level of automation would you like to see in this game?

well of course.

An active defense fleet will probably be a necessity for very large factions as you wouldnt expect to be able to defend such a large station or space with stationary defense or automation,..to a degree.

Active defense could actually be quite fun for larger factions, extra content for those PvP minded players.

Ya for sure!, and that will be the intriguing part of this game to see how that player spurred content is brought forth.
