Hi, i still don't get the point of this type of channel.

It's like a weird meme channel, as everyone just says "Hi" even if they are well known. !?confusion?!

Introductions is just a place to say Hello and maybe a bit about you. Sort of like introducing yourself to the community.

It also gives Spammers a reason to reply to every single Introduction thread to get their post count up.

That's a pretty negative way to look at it, the reason the introduction channels are here is to introduce yourself and be welcomed to the forums. I mean, there's no point in making a post nobody replies to? In that case, you should just go to the about me page and write it in there, but that doesn't get as much attention as threads & Topics.
