How I see them being implemented now is that they'll make stations and tramp freighters obsolete. Unless they make the charge time obnoxious, or the fuel requirements larger than the smaller ships by proportion, its just plain cheaper to do everything with a cap. And they're linking every major...
Nope. Just a huge mentality that the only things games should do and can do is things they have done elsewhere. It's a mass mentality of only eating chocolate ice cream and demanding chocolate ice cream be served with all meals because you liked chocolate ice cream in another situation...
I'll be honest. I don't support the caps at all. In any form they are currently featured, and discussed to feature as. They make many things obsolete, and its seems the devs intend to make them feature as much as they possibly can. Which I don't personally agree with. Really shrinking the game...
I have to say, the devs put in 2 systems clamored for by people who didn't play the game, and both those systems fell flat on their faces. But they had popular support. The potential customer is a poor decider of what to add to a product. Every game offers this NPC PvE seal clubbing fun for all...
A game that supposedly desires to have no NPC's. Which is pubnlicly know. See's an influx of brand new people who go to great lengths to try to sell NPC's and PvE in a PvP centric minimal NPC game... Uh huh... I'm not convinced.
No. You would still be interacting with the world and a part of it. Just, to exceed the speed cap, you have to accept you can't touch other things. Mostly due to the phasing
The speed of ships is not go to increase because you'll start phasing through the terrain, and other people.
The galactic map may or may not ever happen. At this point it's rumors and ideas. Don't bank on it conforming to what you think it will be.
Conflict, and investment in that conflict. drives retention.
Really, speed of movement is just as good a way to "Shrink the world" as actually shrinking the world. Which iirc, was the idea behind this thread. I mean, you kinda quoted me from over a month ago lol.
