Correct. You don't get the coordinates directly. However, their messages contain distance. Using the known distance to multiple station transmitters along with their distance/location relative to each other, you can calculate intersection point of their virtual spheres by trilateration.
Although I co-wrote ISAN Documentation, I don't know the fancy math there well enough to elaborate further.
Planning to make more ISAN videos in the future. Collective's ISAN devs are working on a few other addons to further aid navigation and travel within Starbase.
