Modular ore cargo crate as electricity and pipe line?

Hi I have a question
I read in Starbase wiki:

Correct setup for interacting with the crates:

• Crate should have access to electricity (cables from the crate to power source like generator or battery).
• Crate should have pipe connection to device hardpoint which has resource bridge bolted to it.

and my question is, if i build a line of cargo crates and connect the two ends each to a pipe and cabel. Share this the them Network?

So can I use the cargo crates as a replacement for the pipe and cabel to strech the pipe and cabel limit?

Yes. That's quite common way to circumvent pipe limits.
You can also use rails and CLF as cables.
