Notification About Next Patch: Change to Safe Zone Size and Changes to Ore Material Requirements

We have a patch planned for later this week which will include a change to safe zone size (affecting some PvP stations), reductions to ore material requirements, as well as a new option for highlighting unbuilt station and lot parts, among other things.

The safe zone will be changing from a 350x200x80km box to be a 1000x440x100km ellipsoid. This leaves two PvP stations within its new area of influence:
  • Infantry PvP station
  • Robur PvP station
This will make these stations unusable for PvP. If any of our Closed Alpha testers have things in the station storage of either Infantry or Robur station, we recommend that they'd go and retrieve their possessions from there when they can. These stations will likely eventually be removed from the game.

For PvP, there is a 'new' Robur station added to the game in this patch, at a new location, which is outside the safe zone.

Ore materials required for building will be reduced significantly. More specifically, the amount of required ore material per a built voxel will be halved. This will be in effect in the Ship Designer, and will impact shop prices, but is not currently in effect with the Building Tool. We will be informing about the situation with the Building Tool in the patch more specifically in the patch notes.

Additionally, there will be an option to highlight unbuilt parts through other structures on stations and lots, to make locating them easier. This can be enabled in the Station menu tab, under Blueprint options.

I'm so waiting for that one, even resigned my lot and started over but still couldn't find the missing things...

Will the new PvP station be infantry and ship? If it is infantry will it fix the problem the arena has with its size and contrast with endos? A friend and I were testing the FPS combat on Monday and we came to the conclusion that without any sort of radar or damage indicator that station is way too big.

Might this change to the safe zone lead to a player station that was built within the origin safezone now being outside? I haven't done the math to figure out if this is possible or not, but if our station ends up outside the new SZ that would be disappointing.

Please make the blueprints viewable through objects, would help with finding those little missing parts.
That's this, right? :

I believe this new safe zone will have everything inside it that was in the 'old' safe zone. So nothing should be ending up dropped out.

This is indeed becoming possible through the addition of the option to highlight unbuilt parts in a blueprint.

Great change, the ore cost has been quite a bit to high.
This should keep giving ores a value without being to much of a grind.

Pretty massive increase, wonder what brought about the decision to increase the SZ. Would love to see a visual representation of a comparison of the original SZ size and the new one coming.
