perhaps you can use a cargo lock beam to bring yourself to the target. Not the other way around, because in space it is all relative. Instead of using your ship to arrest another, perhaps use your ship to bring you to it. (same same but different)

What about debris from asteroids? Surely mining asteroids will dirty up your ship and get stuck to it for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately things do indeed decay over time, things simply get old and break, simple movement causes wear and tear on many things. Perhaps wiring stuck in a ships...

I don't know what people would like to see, but I think maintenance would be a cool part. Wires decay and start to short out over time, mechanical joints get sticky and rotate slow or stop altogther... Among other things. What do you guys think?

i suppose what i am getting at is, can you bolt enough ships together that they would become a space station like creation. Where instead of going to an actual station the amalgamation of ships instead was a sort of station?

I am not sure about the feasibility of this, but what if enough ships were docked together that it created a space station. Similar to the 40k space hulks or "the city of a thousand planets". I am sure there are both pros and cons so what do you guys think?
