    Poll: Rental lot privacy.

I really don't think invisible walls fit with the freedom that Starbase offers, but something to keep players out while also not outright eliminating espionage would be the ideal solution for me. Perhaps something like a key, digital or physical, that can be used to interact with a door's lock...

    Electrical and Piping

Whoops! I knew it existed, but I couldn't find the scene I was looking for (which was the scene you ended up finding).

    Electrical and Piping

I don't think it's been highlighted specifically in any video, but you can see them in the cargo and transportation videos, as well as the spaceship video. It's there in the bottom right.

    Electrical and Piping

A device called the socket exists for this purpose, actually. It allows you to get wiring (potentially piping?) through plating without needing to damage it.

If YOLOL chips are runned client side. Wont everyone see something different in big faction factory cause multiple people will work on it?

YOLOL execution range is the same as your render range: 5km. If your factory is larger than that, I'd be impressed. As far as the performance impact, I'd expect a manageable performance hit for a station-based factory.

    Laser-guided torpedo occlusion

Just a quick thought for laser-guided torpedoes, since I'm concerned they might be too powerful and easy to use. Why not have the torpedo draw a line between its sensor and the end-point of the laser, to determine if the laser 'dot' is visible to the torpedo - and thus, if the torpedo can...

    Not sharing ship blueprint rights

You actually can't buy the military ships from these factions :b That being said, I think there's been a bit of an oversimplification of how much goes into designing a ship. Sure, you can slap a couple boxes together, laden it with devices, and call it good.. But a lot of people also look for...

    Concerns about various starbase things.

Just to clarify: I'm pretty sure factions are a launch feature, since they're so important. It's player stations that (among other things) aren't planned til later.

    Possible Idea For Combat Drones

Hmm. I think you'd still have trouble with a mining drone, really, even if you could get a drone to accurately position itself near the rock. The mining laser has a short range of (I think) five meters, and also destroys the parts of the asteroid that it touches. Since the valuable ore inside...

    Not sharing ship blueprint rights

Ooh, I should probably clarify that most of my posts should be taken with a grain of salt. The Discord is super active, and the developers frequently answer questions there; as such, most of my input is just tidbit answers taken and put together piecemeal. I'm not entirely sure how blueprint...

    Not sharing ship blueprint rights

Keep in mind, blueprints can only be obtained at a station with a ship editor, and only for a ship that you are the root owner of - ie, the only one who can take a blueprint of something is the one who built the ship in the first place (and it's assumed that building from a blueprint imbues the...

    Possible Idea For Combat Drones

Keep in mind, receivers don't pinpoint the source of their signal. They have a detection angle (45 deg, as I recall) within which signals can be detected, but signal strength is a constant inside that range. You might be able to set up two receivers with a very slight overlap to be able to...

    Not sharing ship blueprint rights

There should already be a decent market for blueprints, since they're not so easily obtained. Plus, a blueprint requires players to fill it in with materials, so it's not like they're cheap to use.

    Weapons economy

Since the insurance system already exists, and weapons have a high selling price, would it be terrible to tie them into the insurance system? In the same way as an unregistered ship cannot have an insurance claim on it, maybe an unregistered/unlicensed firearm cannot either. Properly built small...

    Poll: Camera

I'm sorry, but.. what? I had to read through the thread again just to make sure I hadn't missed something, or otherwise made a statement that could be construed poorly. Up until last night, this thread was on-topic and populated with meaningful discussion, and nobody was 'slinging insults'. I...

    Poll: Camera

Huh. If you've misinterpreted my input and considerations on the matter at hand as statements of fact, then I can see why you might be aggravated; either way, I'm sorry that this seems to have caused you such distress. Nevertheless, please try to maintain some decorum - this is a public forum...

    Poll: Camera

I've parked ships in Space Engineers without third person, and it was pretty much fine once I got used to the controls (and gravity, if applicable). Granted, cameras are a boon in that situation, and it's for that (sole) reason that I'd be okay with the compromised implementation. Sometimes, you...

    Poll: Camera

I just wanna point out real fast: that's.. exactly what I said? I can't disagree that frustrating mechanics are bad, but I don't see the lack of cameras as an inherently frustrating thing - or at least, not in those scenarios. Most of the ships we've seen so far have had good visibility from...

    Poll: Camera

eh, not really. In reality, I don't think the bridge is an especially vital part of any ship, given proper redundancies, and armor cubes are a ridiculous concept anyways. Of course, but you can build an internal bridge (or a convertible bridge) even without cameras. Large ships aren't likely...
