Larger devices instead of hundreds of smaller devices

Does that mean that the crates with the fun lids are out? I remember there being some issues with their usage.

    Awakening - a Starbase fanfic

Oh, I really enjoyed that! I thought the juxtaposition of the sun dipping behind the moon and the stars becoming visible as RK-13 begins to explore their awareness and their place in the universe was a really nice touch: one massive, obscuring light fracturing into a billion smaller ones, as...

    Hi everyone!

Oh my goodness that is a pretty cat! Chat cat has some serious competition now. Welcome to our world, and good luck with #general-chat! :b

Ways to limit gun spam and glass cannons

Further balancing should probably wait until armor materials are in, but I'm all in favor of weapons fire adding stress to the frame - and potentially recoil forces, as well. It's a little odd to be firing a 30mm autocannon and have it remain perfectly static.

I would like to suggest mounting point and methods for armoring turrets.

Echoing what Calen said; my 'subconstruct' builds generally benefit from an extremely lightweight frame (see: as few beams as possible).

Add 28 new diagonal beam parts and over 465 (up to 3,255) plate parts

This would be absolutely wonderful to have as an idea, but I think loading an additional 28 beams might be a bit.. much?

What are the Discord limits, I seem to have been blocked from posting

Hahaha, nope! Just some technical missteps.

What are the Discord limits, I seem to have been blocked from posting

That's not rate limiting. Discord was experiencing some difficulties earlier today.

    A navigation system is needed.

I didn't care for coordinates before, but having had difficulties meeting up with people beyond the safezone it does seem like something might be needed. However, I still don't want precise coordinates. I'd much rather see a map function on the u-tool, with a 3D representation of the known game...

Rotateing Stuff at the Assembly Line Job

The rotation buttons are XYZ (hold one) and move the mouse. It's a bit awkward.

    Space Drag?

Asteroids come in a variety of material types with different densities, but even beyond that, we're in a fantasy realm: it's entirely plausible that these ship thrusters are more than suited to moving large rocks at high speeds.

    Station Siege Mechanics

You can always add extra mechanics, but I wouldn't say that inhibitors encourage "hurry up and wait" gameplay, or suppress any kind of emergent gameplay. The attackers have a vested interest in blockading the station they've placed their inhibitor at, to starve the station of supplies and ships...

    Different kind of thrusters.

The Hedron goes some ~130m/s. Until warpgates are in, long-distance travel will indeed be quite the time sink.

    Station Siege Mechanics

Think you guys oughta cool down a bit, as this is just a suggestion thread for a concept that may never see the light of day. To that end, though, I think this would work extremely well as a foundation for safezone mechanics: objectives and spice of life changes can be added and subtracted to...

    Space Drag?

As far as I'm aware, space jam is a constant force exerted on all objects in the universe, inversely proportional to mass: light objects slow down quickly, while heavy objects maintain inertia for longer; but, they are always affected and slowing down, without any grace period or delay.

Different ballistic ammo for spaceship weapons

Yeah, give-and-take would be a good way to implement this, I think. FMJ would have the standard characteristics, and each extra type of ammo could balance on heat generation, range (or lifetime), velocity, and dispersion.

    Limited Sandbox Discussion

That's hardly a fair position to take. Being able to take input and constructive criticism and then apply it to your work is an indicator of an open mind, not a lack of vision.

    Boltcrackers Episode 7: Boarding Countermeasures

Every time I think I'm set on a concept (in this case, on-board respawns), someone here opens my eyes and changes my mind. It's exhausting :b Perhaps that respawn thread should be revived (pun intended eyy)

    Server Locations

As far as I'm aware, it is. While Frozenbyte has a scalable server solution if needed, the majority (if not all) of simulation is handled client-side by the owner of object, or otherwise the 'next best' client, which is then passed on to its peers. It would be entirely infeasible for them to...

    Poll: Rental lot privacy.

Sorry, I misunderstood. In that case, I don't know that I'd agree with any of the poll options (no offense intended, of course). Invisible walls should always be discouraged, in my opinion, but one-way fire control (a la option #1) is a wholly inequitable solution. I don't necessarily agree that...
