I feel like this poll needs to be a single vote only, as people fall into what they like most, and tend to follow habits. I think it would be more indicitive of what people feel like they would do rather than their hopes.
Regarding "Asteroid issues":
As far as I know FrozenByte's plan was (and still is? FB correct me if I am wrong) to have asteriods persistant, they just are not yet. A lot of the other things mentioned are just bugs that need fixing.
As long as the automated turrets are restricted to large vessels and their aimpoints are something of a random chance, with innacuracy, making them not very good against fighters, I don't see a problem with auto turrets. I hope FrozenByte remain open to the idea as a way of helping promote use...

A faction rank system that can have 'roles' dynamically assigned to members (and created/removed with all traits to the role modifiable) that allows faction leaders to also assign specific blueprints to be 'available' to anyone in a specific role.

Please, no shields. Starbase has the satisfying response of dealing physical damage on impact, and adding shields works to eliminate/mitigate that element of dynamic damage that was so painstakingly put in and enables jobs for combat engineers. Shields are also not fun to fight against either...
