I've been reading through the forum a lot as of its creation and it has been really interesting to see what people think about this and that, usually the topics are very compacted to one or two things, however I want to know what you expect to see in the game, what you expect to happen to you in the first week of playing and where you see the game heading in it's longer run.

With this I'm basically wondering what your vision of the game is, of course, it may be hard for some of you to speculate if you feel you don't know enough yet or just simply because the game is not out yet, that is completely understandable, but those of you who have a vision of Starbase, id love to know what it's like.

My vision speculation of Starbase EA
(Summary & simplified for less of a text wall)
Excluding all possible exploits & such things, this is how I imagine Starbase with the current information available to me.

My first day of entering Starbase I can only think of the larger amounts of players I will most likely(hopefully) encounter getting started on all their own goals & tasks, working together or alone to just get away from the safe zone as fast as possible. There will be asteroids being mined left and right and new ships will start to appear within the end of the day,

Further ahead a few weeks into Starbase I imagine the factions will have been established and skirmishes between them beginning due to first week tensions that may have occurred, one could possibly witness some of these skirmishes taking place if unlucky/lucky depending on your view. The skirmishes, battles and boarding events only increase the more diplomatic tension spreads, not to mention all the uniformed & customized robots making use of the game's cosmetic & colouring systems!

Later on, when everything has been established Players will be creating living breathing(or not so breathing) community of endoskeletons, jobs being player made, trade, diplomacy, new and interesting ships appearing & all the possible things players could imagine within the bounds of Starbase. Eventually, large ships (mothership and its likes) being built where large factions would house their main operations base, industrial ship factories flying around the universe possibly selling whatever they came up with, could be ship designs, materials or maybe even YOLOL code chips.

You are traveling through the universe and you can see landmarks being built around the game's boundaries, such as a Halo ring which there is already talks off, besides larger marks you could find ruined stations, ships or less destroyed entities like taverns, outlaw outposts/taverns or freeports (freeports such as the one @Wicca is hoping to create) where all are welcome to enjoy some friendly trade, although your journey may be cut short by pirates who may seek to claim your vessel(s) and the other belongings of you and your friends where you have to actively seek a way to protect yourself as efficiently as possible, maybe by hiring escorts from mercenary factions or developing a decent defense system for your own ships, maybe even purchasing such a system by a trader.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Empire comes together under Emperor Laurentius (@LauriFB)and how it's influence will be spread and their stations grow like space cities and you could possibly see the massive amounts of players working together in the faction (& sub-factions) to protect all players from pirates and help with giving jobs & other possibilities, maybe as crew members of the empire fleet as they cruise towards kingdom outposts to settle some disputes.

The way there could potentially be a bounty system in place where players can even take upon themselves to hunt down certain pirates by different factions issuing the payment to hunt the most troublesome pirates, just like a bounty hunter watching whatever way they can to find their targets. (Unfortunately for @LindaFB and other pirates! :p)

This is just a bit of what I had in mind of what Starbase could or will be for EA and beyond, this is mainly speculation with a lot of the info I have soaked up like a sponge during my stay on the forums & FAQ, but I will stop it here for now leaving the post slightly simplistic as if I continue this will be the entire first page of the topic
___________

Loving the idea of what Starbase wants to be, in summary, an interactive dynamic world for players to stay in, and live out alternate lives as endoskeletons, and "city" like Stations where you can do tons of stuff and watch events & stations unfold to their largest extents!

Now let's hear what you come up with, love some developer visions on this too! :)

I want the player driven experiences, politics, war, espionage, and economy/marketplace of Eve Online, with the meaningful construction, simulation, and programability of Stormworks, all in a shared experience with a thousand+ other players, and released fully featured and bug free in 2020. If they can pull off some engaging combination of those I will die happy.

Early game:
Everyone spend time in starting areas learning how game mechanics work, slowly heading out to new areas for better resources. Player factions who spent months organizing their members and likely have access to a player or few who had access to the closed alpha will outpace more lax and later formed factions. Empire and Kingdom will fight largely unorganized battles incentivized by devs. The economy will largely be created and pushed forward by members of the neutral faction and player factions, supplied by mining and consumed by early ship builders and pilots looking to get in on early pvp. R&D will be slow on automation as many attempt to learn YOLOL and how to pair it with robotic arms. Programmers will have and maintain a large lead on automation.

Late game:
Empire and Kingdom are either wildly successful or fall flat and disband. Large alliances form to combat warring factions. YOLOL basic comprehension and usage ubiquitous, full time programmers are full time wizards. I hope higher level YOLOL code is not open sourced due to advantages created by it, but I expect many players will want to show off their handiwork and will start the copy/paste saga. Fringe space explorers already made their way to a moon. Convoy is sent out to set up a FTL gate at POI(s). PvP is incentivized by large supply of automatically (or very close to) built ships only limited by potentially automated asteroid mining. Piracy of beginning players is largely condemned, instead focusing on other factions' players.

And then the devs add the rest of the galaxy...

I highly enjoy that part of the game, the entire game world is run by players in the type of setting it is, 1st/3rd person with building.. Just exploring the world for all these things you may find in the world :D

I believe as for the YOLOL code in the game there will be a lot of it open to the public by Cylon, they aim to give YOLOL to the public.

I do hope as of right now that Empire & Kingdom persists in the game though, I believe they would give valuable dynamic and jobs for players.
