  1. Yolol: Server Terminals & Server Locks

Good luck finding the chip you want from the inventory... At least if it's in the designer you can tack a text panel to the chip&reader with a description of what each chip has on it, and have some spatial organisation of topic.
  2. Why do we have a sprinting limit?

Heat, energy reserves, wear and tear on the Endo?
  3. Generators

Beyond one reactor, though, you have to place them with thought, rather than just build one massive block of GGGGGGG.
  4. Network and beams

And dumbing down the creation of resource and data networks to the point of irrelevance. Combining cables and pipes with ducts isn't "difficult"; deciding where to allocate your network build budget and the bolts needed to stop it springing apart under stress is more of a challenge. Networking...
  5. Generators

I think the purpose of the heat inefficiency is precisely to militate against just having one chonking huge reactor, and to reward varied designs.
  6. Yolol: Server Terminals & Server Locks

You can do this in the spaceship designer. Make a Module of your YOLOL library, with every script you've ever written on a chip in a chip holder. Make modules of each script, with just the chip in it (that's how you'd import things from the environment you tested 'em in to the library module).
  7. PVE is already failing...

Restocking the safe zone may well reduce the incentive to leave it, but that's not a Bad Thing, IMO. It means that no one is forced out, and people who simply have no interest in personal PvP can still play the game. The AH will still be there, and will be a forum for PvP by another means...
  8. PVE is already failing...

While I agree with the sentiment, it's also entirely possible (given that the SZ will never empty) for someone to mine (in a pure mining machine that needs no defenses or defenders and only enough speed to not be dallying between mining and dropping off) the heck out of the rocks that will...
  9. Ship toolbox / Gun locker

Or you can make a cubby hole in your ship, and bolt your not-being-used-right-now implements to the walls in there (behind a door to hide the mess) :)
  10. How many batteries do I really need on my ship?

"Too many batteries" is a very situational thing. If you've got them and they're not needed in another ship you want to build or spawn, they probably don't add enough mass to worry about. If you aren't going to use the volume they take in your frame, and the attachment opportunites, for other...
  11. How "likely" is a thing to break when the durability tool says it is in danger if a collision occurs?

I did try adding bolts. An extra 3 in a 48cm duct didn't shift it. I'm sure the designer does just highlight the worst offenses (and there will usually be several) and you can never get rid of them all, but when attached Parts Warp Class can be displayed, and the overloading of beams as a...
  12. How can i delete ship from my list of possessions?

Great find! I wasn't looking for a button... Now I have nerves about getting rid of things that I was sure I was certain I didn't want, before I knew how to get rid of them... Stoopid brane.
  13. Improved navigation tools: Gyroscopes and Inertial Sensors

ISAN depends on external references. Who is to say that those (or similar) reference points will be available the other side of a warp gate? Or that future developments won't mean people can disrupt them locally or globally?
  14. Improved navigation tools: Gyroscopes and Inertial Sensors

Accelerometers should be a thing along with gyroscopes. Then you can use YOLOL to build your inertial guidance system out of basic components, which seems in keeping with the devs' intents.
  15. How "likely" is a thing to break when the durability tool says it is in danger if a collision occurs?

So I'm playing silly beggars in the designer, building things with unfeasibly high WC. Sometimes, I see an orange box on a component which yields the message: "Warning: part likely to fail if a collision occurs near it." First off I'm wondering how serious this is, in terms of the level of...
  16. (\i/) Vintage Incorporated

[is chortling at the ascii tag this org has created/adopted... Brazilian, anyone?]
  17. Manual Beam Welding - Requesting feedback on a design suggestion for replacing attachment plates

I love the Heath Robinson look I've seen of some of the contraptions held together by bolts. Welds won't be the same... But for a "proper" frame, they seem a perfect solution.
  18. build limits?

I would be very pleased if all the limitations on ships were based on the characteristics of the things that make up the ships. So a small fighter (which can only house a small power plant) can't have a big LAZOR on it, not because "Devs say so", but because the size of PP it can carry simply...
