  1. Thoughts on Device Balancing/Future Changes

Depends, if it's a small change then I agree, but I don't think it's meaningful when it's a 300% difference. Hopefully future changes will not be this drastic. Yep, that's the flavor of that game and that's it. All SB ships seem like thruster crafts to me so I don't exactly see the issue there...
  2. Thoughts on Device Balancing/Future Changes

No the new ships are nowhere as sturdy as the old ones, they have half the armor and just that, half the armor. The two ships in this comparison now fill different roles (one nimble and one tanky) and are totally functional in their respective area without the need for any redesigning and this...
  3. Thoughts on Device Balancing/Future Changes

Not everyone has the time to redesign ships whenever power draw is updated, especially in Starbase where building a ship takes longer than some of the other games. I played FtD as well (from 2015 to around 2018 ish), I can say from my experience I would much prefer basic physics stay the same...
  4. Add 28 new diagonal beam parts and over 465 (up to 3,255) plate parts

Except these are not really cosmetic. These new beams allow for tighter hulls. Sure they look better, but at the same time they probs weigh slightly less, which is a small but real advantage.
  5. Coolant Valve

Works much like the valve found on fuel tank supports, except this one is a standalone version intended to disconnect damaged radiators from the coolant loop. Ideally, this version can also be remotely controlled by YOLOL so that combat ships can still use radiators comfortably to an extent.
  6. support ships and tech

they will probs balance the damage as time goes on, right now i think most ships shouldn't be that worried cuz missiles and torps are both very slow
  7. Start mining activity improvement

Honestly this sounds like what player factions will do especially at the start of the game. Mining ops to get new players a head start. But ye the normal mining job should always be there as a backup.
  8. 【Discuss】Politics in the game

To RedPine: Great post. I speak both Chinese and English. I felt weird when I was reading OP's posts and now I know why. The whole experiment thing just feels very fishy. (Not saying it is actually done with bad intentions, but still) About 7. there wasn't really any translation error. He meant...
  9. 【Discuss】Politics in the game

Bruh just play the game like normal already. Wars are gonna happen and they are a lot of fun (in video games only ofc). Will see how this whole thing plays out, hopefully it will be a fun ride.
  10. Ship editor hotbars and extending beams and plates for rapid ship building

This is great! I haven't played CA but ye I could feel the struggle trying to just get things to snap. Another thing I wish can get added is the option to snap things to 6, 12, or 24cm grid while moving them with the three arrows. This should serve as a backup when snapping doesn't work.
  11. Thoughts on Device Balancing/Future Changes

TLDR: I think if the devs need to nerf/buff/adjust certain devices in the future (especially after CA), they should try to only change stats that do not interact with anything else on the same ship so that old ships can still work well. This mainly came from the recent increase in weapon power...
  12. Starbase a la Animal Crossing (How to Start off with a Ship)

I agree, hopefully they can figure out a balance for all those starting options.
  13. Alternative Rotation Modes

I'm not in the CA, but from my understanding watch streams, currently you grab something and rotate it by pressing x y z. I think it is fine but I would like to have alternative rotation modes for players coming from different games. e.g. there could be a gmod mode where you rotate with your...
  14. Starbase a la Animal Crossing (How to Start off with a Ship)

I do have something to say about the last bit of your post. While I can totally see why you want to balance the earnings rate of said rental ship (and I do agree I should be balanced), I don't think it would be feasible to balance. The main reason is the lack of control. Flying a ship, even...
  15. New starting jobs.

An instanced PVP FPS lobby shooter could be nice as well, teaches player important CQB skills. You get some credit for killing your opponents. Companies can use this to improve coordination. Also, there could be a tutorial mission where the player has to go to all the areas of the starting...
  16. FCU Support for Angled Turning Thrusters

That's really nice to know! I was more talking about X-shaped thrusters at the front tho... Any existing cases of that working?
  17. FCU Support for Angled Turning Thrusters

I once thought this was included in the game, but CA videos proved me wrong. Anw I would like to see FCUs that support turning thrusters that are mounted at a 45degree angle or any other weird angle. This will really add a lot more flavor to the ship designs seen in the game.
  18. Ship Repair and Recharge in Ship Storage Menu

Yep, gotta balance the two playstyles.
  19. Ship Repair and Recharge in Ship Storage Menu

I do agree with the fact that easy access to some internal components (like the generator fuel rod) is necessary. However, things like fuel tanks are gonna get refuel ports anyways according to the devs. Also manual repairing will just be reprinting parts of the ship with the building tool and I...
  20. Ship Repair and Recharge in Ship Storage Menu

Yes, this system should be paid in credits, similar to how ready built ships are more expensive than their raw material costs. Or if a player happens to have some material in the station inventory, this system should use those materials as well.
