Not sure if this is a thing or not, but I thought I'd just throw this out there.
I would be really nice if ships can be repaired, recharged and rearmed when despawned in the Ship Storage Menu. (I don't actually know the name of that menu. I remember seeing it in a dev blog where the player...
isn't stronger window/glass kinda against the whole no 3rd person view thing tho? if the windows are no longer a weak spot, the balancing act between protection and visibility would be gone.
When mocking up designs, especially small fighters, I felt there's a pretty big gap between pure battery power and the smallest generator currently available. Now add in the fact that a generator with a single generator unit is more geared towards longevity and has pretty poor power to weight...
I mostly agree. However I feel like the feat of landing on the moon first would be at least partially a publicity stunt meant to attract more people into the faction, so even if they do nothing on the moon it's still quite impactful.
Something like the squad radio in games like Arma is definitely useful in games like Starbase so that you don't have ten thousand people chatting at the same time during a space battle. Could be done with discord but would require the squad leader to constantly switch between VCs.
I'd like to see high cap magazines but I think they might cause balancing issues. Also a big part of designing ships in Starbase is to make sure the ship is serviceable, and large mags sort of takes that aspect of the game away.
Yes, material painting is quite accurate. This function will probably be most useful when upgrading large amount of parts at once (so exactly plates and beams) Only other one I can think of right now is the FCU with its three variants. Idk but maybe FB will come up with more parts. A similar...
Honestly I'm not too worried about meta/popular designs. I've been involved with combat robots IRL for around 4 years now, and my experience there told me that even if there's a clear meta in place there is still diversity and fun to be had.
If you have watched Battlebots or Robot Wars before...
Ye thats pretty much it. Lets say I already have a regular cargo ship design, but I want a up-armored version because my trading routes are getting more dangerous. With this system I can just click one button to up-armor the entire ship, or select particular areas where I want to protect either...
Not sure if this is suggested before but I'd like to see some quick way of changing material/grade of components across the ship, mainly to create higher/lower spec versions of the same ship. I can see this be really useful if you want to create a military version of a civilian ship by switching...
