    Gunships

So, I've been thinking a bit about this, cuz I'm a thinker! Ok, lame joke aside, perhaps a static seat emplacement of a special variety could be placed inside ships to control turrets. Instead of being a seat, it could be a box made of oninom, with a window portion (I wish I was good at...

That's fair. And initially, he did say they would be removing them. Now they won't. But the problem persists. So yeah.

I can see how that can happen.

Clarification about dev faction blueprint sharing (don't do it)

Perhaps company/faction colors should be picked at creation of the company/faction, and that lowers the color pallette only for BP's shared within the future company BP sharing mechanic? Like, I personally can use whatever colors I want in a BP I make, but when it becomes a faction BP for my...

    Gunships

We're as concerned as the devs about the drawbacks of these turntables and want them to work as much as they do. Adding the tripods isn't going to remove the fundamental problems with the existing turrets. So in addition to adding these tripods, the pursuit of solving the existing, and seemingly...

    Gunships

So, I was talking on the Starbase Engineering Conference server, and we were discussing this topic there. What I said was: It was mentioned that some of the problem comes from the separation of the turret base and the turning plate when being used by different players. I think the idea I have...

WARNING: Unplayable lagg on the biggest ships due to thrusters

You want an option to remove the thing you basically need to know there is someone near you, because you use a monsterous ship that your computer is admittedly not powerful enough to run... Just.... wut? You could, ya know, use a smaller ship, use less thrusters (like boxes, which are more...

    Ship combat is missing something

Taking a victim stance and making this all about you is not conducive to a discussion going anywhere. Hyperbole's are also not helping. You don't have distance, which also make lining up a target harder. Without knowing about the ship you're looking at beforehand, you don't know for certain...

    Ship combat is missing something

So an incentive to not use the rail gun at maximum ranges. Or even as primary weapon. Which tbh, I know when I hit with a laser, but I don't know how well that hit did. There is uncertainty in combat, and I think its good to have to deal with that uncertainty. Or make your own tools, when the...

    Ship combat is missing something

That sounds like a good drawback to a weapon with huge range and destructive ability

You could mine through the dense asteroid section. Hazard to travel, boon to miners?

Economy the current state and how to do it better

It really detracts from his argument in my mind. There are many popular games where things cost billions, and factions that have trillions in assets of the ingame currency (Eve anyone?). I hope that with the potential few thousand that may get some passes over then next few months we'll see...

*Looks at current ship project* I may have jumped the gun in making a large ship then ;)

Economy the current state and how to do it better

This is one of the worst reasoning's for a thing ever... The problem boils down to not enough producers and too many consumers. A consequence of having so few people active in the economy. The other part is sellers pricing themselves beyond the means of their customers. Like hell I'm gonna pay...

Helping larger ships to be more viable

I think you all make some good points. I do like the idea of the "warp drives" as a form of defense for the slow lumbering hulks that may be out there. However, everything Calen said is true. Those are all problems that need solutions. Having armored internal turret controls would be great...

Single ship size limit instead of separate limits for different things.

That's very true. Kinda true here as well. For some reason some peoples ships just plain don't render for me. I have no idea why that is.

Single ship size limit instead of separate limits for different things.

I prefer the limits as they are displayed right now. PCU in SE goes unused and derided in my experience.
