    I mean the one that allows people walking in a spaceship (excluding realistic approaches, like acceleration and centripetal gravity). Those that allows ships to levitate are shady as well.

    Magic :D Maybe it's just glowing acid sprayer? Or some kind of unstable plasma thrower? I wouldn't bother too much with explaining game mechanics. People are used to much more unrealistic stuff in SF (i.e. gravity generators).

    In SB top speed is directly proportional to acceleration, which is important part of maneuvrability. You can't have one without the other. Only way to make large ships fast but not agile would be changing drag formula to make it weaker the heavier the ship. I never mentioned larger weapons. IMO...

    Recalculation of MFC and thrusters is very quick. It's done every time your ship is dynamically modified by bullets. It's fast enough that FCU on a turret may work, even if with little delay. So that won't be a problem.
