  1. Clarification about dev faction blueprint sharing (don't do it)

So, one can create, for example, a private discord server, and invite arbitrarily many ppl to it and freely share any BP there? Is that intended?
  2. What are the advantages of YOLOL over the existing langs?

Another thing to keep in mind is that having their own language gives the devs more control over how powerful scripting is
  3. Making engines detectable like transponders.

Now that you mention it, you need some dedicated equipment to recycle coolant, but I did see someone with CA access test the coolant recycling, though that was long ago
  4. Making engines detectable like transponders.

Afaik the way cooling works atm is that there is coolant stored in coolant cells, and as that coolant is used to cool things, it becomes used coolant, and the radiator recycles used coolant into fresh coolant.
  5. Network?

I do not think that outside connections like that would be allowed, as that could be a major security risk
  6. Network?

As for yolol networks, theoretically it can be done, but yolol stops working if there aren't any players nearby, so practically it can not be done
  7. Network?

K1tty, that tool is not a 1:1 match with in-game yolol, and neither is the UI anything like in-game. in-game you can add text panels to your ships, and they have an input field, and whatever you put into their input field they output it.
  8. A system similar to the weapon system of From the Depths

I love the FtD weapon system, and the other similar multiblock systems in it, and I would love to see something similar in SB. Maybe not an "exact" copy, but perhaps support for compact auto bolt and unbolt tools, and rails which work well on ships, to make your own custom reloading mechanisms...
  9. What is your ambition for the game?

I just want to automate as many things as possible
  10. Quickplay Mode: Or How to Retain Players that Don't Have the Patience for the Main Game

I think it is exactly because it is so different from the main game. ppl who have already bought the game did not buy it for fast-paced action, and so the core gameplay overshadows this fast-paced action one. CQC with a bit more development could be a separate game on its own, but since it is...
  11. Quickplay Mode: Or How to Retain Players that Don't Have the Patience for the Main Game

Elite Dangerous has tried something similar with CQC, which is basically exactly what OP has described. CQC is practically dead. I do agree that the starting experience must not be grindy, and if it is, it needs rework. The first few minutes is when the game has to entice new players to stay...
  12. Starbase Progress Notes: Previously unpublished materials

Oooh, title + description below also total 16 words
  13. Thoughts about PeerToPeer (P2P)

Starbase will not be pure P2P, but a hybrid, with "Persistence, security, matchmaking" (and maybe some other stuff as well) handled server side. Devs were pretty adamant on doing their best to prevent cheaters, but, obviously, we wont get any details on the anticheat methods. Still, I do...
  14. Starbase Progress Notes: Previously unpublished materials

We got 16 items in this progress report, perfect!
  15. who dominate the battlefield? One super battleship or a group of nimble fighters?

IMO almost every ship size will have it's role, bigger and slower ships would be more suited for objective offense and defense, small and fast ships would be more suited for hit'n'run attacks and support roles in bigger battles.
  16. Starbase Progress Notes: Week 14 (2020)

What is this new mining system that is mentioned?
  17. Stealth Technology

The furthest I would go if any stealth like technology were to be introduced is a special, expensive and fragile plating for ships that can be manually switched between a couple predetermined paintjobs. But I think even that is unnecessary, I would rather not have any stealth tech at all, I...
  18. Starbase Progress Notes: Week 43

It's based on Jornexe's speculation, it's just an alternate interpretation
  19. Starbase Progress Notes: Week 43

Next Alternative, the pic taken from the Spatha signifies that CA starts in the month prior to EA release, and then the 5 asteroids would mean 5th of November for CA release
  20. Starbase Progress Notes: Week 43

Alternate interpretation: December 16th is the full release date, and the five asteroid picture, the asteroids in that picture are large as evidenced by the Empire fighter (I think it's called Spatha) landed on the middle one, those asteroids denote CA length before release, so 5 weeks of CA, CA...
