    [new] Like Button Poll

yeah definitely people are definitely going to do this to skew the vote on a poll for a feature on a forum for a game not even out yet

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

damn yeah if only i had quoted his reply and addressed it a page ago. Who's reading the thread again? :sneaky:

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

I've heard the development time/effort argument used more than once, but there isn't even a release date yet, so they're not operating under some kind of constraint where a buildmode can't be done. As for the most relevant part of your argument: A person having to gather credits and resources...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

I like how you are hinging the success of the game and the MMO aspect on whether players have to sit in their base building a ship or just importing it lol If that is going to determine the quality of the MMO universe in Starbase the game has way bigger problems. All I'm saying is that not...

You've followed him into two threads to dunk on him for trying to get feedback on a popular idea. Cool your jets.

Because Agree / Respectfully Disagree is what the Paradox forums use and it's polite. He's just throwing the option out there.

Why wouldn't you just post using a forum poll? Like the one you already have? lol

The guy worried about the dislike button because people might be mean in a game that's built on people being mean to each other is worth the price of thread admission though.

What happen to the like button?

No one seems to understand this basic concept, even though almost every modern forum and gaming forum uses this feature.

Empire, Kingdom, Neutral, WHY did you pick your side?

I picked neutral because you had to choose a side to get access to the Starbase discord when it launched for some reason, and didn't wanted it to be more or less clear we were a player-org not a premade one.

Forum suggestions? Post it to this thread!

A 2 minute timer on posting is long by most forums standards. Something Awful operates on the order of 10 seconds (to prevent outright spamming), the WoW forums are 60 seconds. Most other forums are on 60 seconds or less. I'm still voting for a dislike button though, Blizzard uses them...

Hey! Since you used my signature I'll just copy the complete codeblock I used: THE TERRIBLE DENIZENS OF SOMETHINGAWFUL.COM TERRIBLE GOON DISCORD: https://discord.gg/uHyyaM8 Hope that helps some. I just used a .gif link from imgur and used the direct link img tag function. edit: Oh...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

I'm enjoying seeing a lot of names from AO which had a universally reviled in-game and non-sandbox ship designer, ardently defending the same bad system here. FYI a "sandbox" doesn't have to be separate. It can be an instanced or blueprint mode at a starbase that doesn't require resources and...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

This. If people don't want to sandbox, either in a freeform way in a shipyard on the server or in a sandbox out of a sense of purism, they don't have to. Other people can and should. Compounding the hours and hours spent trying to develop workable blueprints in game where everything is a...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

I think if you're extrapolating on a minor example, you're glossing over the overall point. What I describe is "best case" scenario. This sums it up perfectly.

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

That's a false equivocation to who a non-buildmode or sandbox mode affects. I'm not talking about the margin of players who are literally cheating. And exploiting a game design feature is NOT the same as cheating anyway. Most devs understand this. The absence of a build/sandbox mode affects...
