    More or less, but with less fiddly implementation compared to SE. More hi-tech emitters that sit nice and flush with the hull or at least don't have to be put out on meters-long booms.

    the unitool already seems to have that range as a basic operational feature, just needs LoS to the device- if that won't be official gameplay range, I'd support some kind of "wireless access timer" to reach out to that 5-10m limit and touch device fields you can't see

    yeah, then the average "slicer" needs to carry the sabotage code and know the ship systems or be prepared to reprogram device fields to work with the replacement code, which means stealing a ship by hacking isn't so easy as attacking one little chip reader, so owners have ample time to discover...

    it's yolol-based, if a player can get their hands on a chip, there's likely a method to access the code, we'll need to see how chip-locking works out in practice, which could mean hacking requires replacing chips instead of recoding them.

    Mm, we have no indication that input method is a device field, further I recall the chair's function as being described as "grabbing nearby controls" with keybinds.

    I hope not, that's a lot of potential keybinds lost! that means turret controls can't use arrow keys if the pilot does and the pilot has to make sure they don't accidentally mess with the gunners, vice versa.

    considering the Week13 progress report shows buttons getting pressed from many meters away, I'd hazard a guess that if the manual range isn't nerfed the chair range likely will be the same- no reason not to have them share range of ability

    probably not getting a HUD. And if there's a button within range of the chair, you can keybind it, so there shouldn't be any that you can press that aren't on a keybind

    the chairs keybinding things lets you push the buttons or levers with the keybinds, keybinds don't happen without command chairs, out of a chair it's all manual
