    Piracy and Thievery

You guys are so kind, teaching this lost one how to effectively pirate.

    Piracy and Thievery

You forget mate, this isn’t ARK or Atlas. There’s one world, one server. You might have a whale of a faction, you might have the alpha faction, but you’re just one whale in an ocean. Also, I seriously doubt your “leashing” will be a gameplay aspect. Sure, you can corner a fish in a kiddy pool...

    POLL: Respect Neutrality

I would likely leave neutral factions alone. If they were to be in a partnership with a faction I or my faction are not on good terms with I would see them as a potential target based on the value they provide.

    The Starbase Experience

Early game: Everyone spend time in starting areas learning how game mechanics work, slowly heading out to new areas for better resources. Player factions who spent months organizing their members and likely have access to a player or few who had access to the closed alpha will outpace more lax...

    Piracy and Thievery

Please do not quote me if you're just going to ignore what you quote. Also, you can't seem to decide whether or not there will be piracy.

    Piracy and Thievery

Piracy will happen so long as one of three ideals are present: Piracy is profitable People want to pirate (ex: Sea of Thieves) Factions incite piracy of another factions' players

Making larger ships more interesting with modules too large for smaller ship?

Large ships could serve as haulers and protectors of supplies, such as: Trade supplies Long distance travel fuel for smaller ships Spoils of war Long distance communications array Ship grinders Asteroid miners Generally things that combat ships might need but wouldn’t want to carry so as to...

    Help making a name

Well then, in no particular order: "One Eye Willy" or "Inferno" (name of the ship), for The Goonies reference "Necrotic", "Necrotize", "Necromates", something with "necro" since you've got a skull and you'll be repurposing dead ships "Grinders".. or something incorporating “grinding”, it is...

Other games of the genre. What would you like to be borrowed, or not.

I would love to see Starmade’s implementation of blueprinting ships in a creative setting while in a survival world with others: shipyards.

    VR Headset Suggestions

As an owner of an HTC Vive, I can say there is definitely space for glasses built in. Not the easiest to do, but possible. Vive is well known for room tracking and in general hand tracking being very good (I’ve heard of other vr controllers drifting during play). What is not amazing about the...

Forum suggestions? Post it to this thread!

Perhaps a system where higher ranked people on the forums have access to lower delay between messages. I have yet to run into a need to post more than every other minute, I generally spend more than that reading the forum and crafting a response. If people are having faster conversations...

Forum suggestions? Post it to this thread!

I think the like and dislike button only serve to represent multiple people backing or condemning a specific point of view. Unlike Reddit, forums take a lot of vertical space (especially with signatures), making a very long read. I personally really don't like having a like or dislike button...

    Heyo!

Been lurking around the forums for a bit since they went up, never put too much thought into making one of these.. eh, why not? I'm Azelous (Az-eh-lous), I have frequented many games of many genres. Overwatch, Factorio, Sea of Thieves, Beat Saber, Space Engineers, Satisfactory, Warframe, Elite...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

If you're worried about other players you don't know, I can't say an MMO that forces player interaction is a good start (as apposed to say Warframe that has single player modes). However, if you can look past the whole "random people" to achieve a safe PvE experience, I bet you can play to your...

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

I actually like Starmade's Shipyard for the creation of blueprints, and how it put sandbox mode into the live game. The main difference between Starmade's implementation and what I hope to be Starbase's is that they already had creative mode, and there's generally no reason to be near other...

    Factories?

I expect automated ship building to be possible, but being very, very time consuming to actually achieve. The variables on robotic arm manipulation are going to need to be fine tuned, which will probably take a significant amount of time in itself.

Incorporating an in-game Ship design element into the real-time MMO, and abolishing a separate Creative mode

The point is that MMO players are interacting with each other, but having single player ship building means those players are influenced by players they don't can't interact with.
