  1. Why Having More Thruster Modules Would Be Pretty Neat

Just having the choice to go "2 electric" or "2 propellant" instead of being forced to be one of each would be a great start. If you just make the sockets "generic" and able to accept any module, the available options become pretty endless. I like the general thrust of your ideas. I'd like to...
  2. Coolin cell went flying after replacement

Things like Fuel Rods and cooling packs are *supposed* to stay where you put them. Sometimes they don't. There's a suggestion that it's because the game doesn't register their lock-in properly and if you take them out and put them back it'll fix that. Or you could just nail 'em down by default.
  3. Radiation Technology Mechanics

I hope it's more complicated than: "some one thing" in your ship produces "detectable radiation" that you can mitigate by "shielding". Something more like "Several things" in your ship produce "different kinds of detectable radiation" that you can mitigate by "shielding" and behaviours. Not...
  4. Visible safe zone boundaries

Set up some warnings in your cockpit. Then when you do cross the line you won't miss the warning.
  5. add Recip for refill NOT Empty TANK or Fuel ROd

Even if that's possible, I wouldn't trust the demand to actually empty a tank/rod before moving on to the next one. If "less than the minimum the load feels like using" is "empty" now, it'd be "empty" for the case of "do I use the next tank yet?"
  6. Radiation Technology Mechanics

    I only hope it's not some simple-minded single-factor kludge.
  7. Some of my friend are ready to quit because the ore and ship eating bugs (especially the refunds)

Meh. It does. You put a ticket in, you either get your ship back, probably plus a "sorry for the inconvenience" or you get a voucher for what you lost. Most of the time. It's better than any other customer service at this stage of development of a game that I've seen. If the errors were...
  8. Some of my friend are ready to quit because the ore and ship eating bugs (especially the refunds)

Then you'd think wrong. Anyone who'll ragequit for that reason shouldn't be playing an early access game. This kind of stuff should be expected behaviour. It'll get sorted out eventually if it gets reported through proper channels. Our (small) Company has lost half a dozen ships (including ones...
  9. Structural integrity calculations are just purely WRONG!

You have grasped my intent precisely. I think it will help because it will "deepen the beam" that's bearing the load. Yes, the frame you've made is pretty sturdy, but, as far as I can see from the pictures, it's asymmetrical around the line of thrust, in the vertical axis, and there is load...
  10. Connections with sockets.

The socket is just a socket. It might not be the best solution for your case, as I believe it adds a thin element to the surface that may interfere with the placement of other elements. I'd just run a cable "through" the plate. It's nigh-impossible to fix if it breaks, but that's true of many...
  11. Structural integrity calculations are just purely WRONG!

I see nothing much wrong in those pics. You've got all the load where it's adding the most stress (which is, of course, the point when your testing things). I'd be inclined to put another layer of beams to the top of your cans; that'd probably sort out those stresses. Just because something is...
  12. Where are the team features?

I'm hoping that "Inventory 2.0" will include shared inventory for both ores and items. That's been announced. I'm also hoping that the team working on things like Inventory and the team working on "Noo Stuffs" are different. We do need both; the game has to develop its full feature set at the...
  13. Turret Control like on the Zeppelin or the Submarine

I have a suspicion that this is entirely intentional, given the "feel" the developers are shooting for. Big, multi-turreted battleships hurling walls of fire at each other while agile single-seaters flit about dogfighting each other at knife-fighting range.
  14. Connections with sockets.

Are you using the Socket Tool? I've had that work perfectly well on beams. Even the long axis... Other than that, cable and pipe can interpenetrate most components, beams and plates when you lay it, so you can make the plate "untouchable and invisible" (for ease of seeing and clicking; it...
  15. Securing Yolol chip

You're welcome. Applies to Fuel Rods and Coolant Packs too.
  16. All-encompassing armored ground warfare: A suggestion

Reading your post, I think you do get what I meant! :) Sure, if you make gravity "stoopid strong", things with solid connections to the ground start to get more useful. But then you have the whole "getting things out of the gravity well" problem. If a high power-to-weight ratio ground attack...
  17. Some of my friend are ready to quit because the ore and ship eating bugs (especially the refunds)

Or "It's an early access game, don't get your knickers in a bunch about stupid stuff like this: it's to be expected." If you don't want to be bothered by such inconsistencies, don't go mad on early access games.
  18. Securing Yolol chip

Bolts. It's always bolts. Anything that might just float off probably will, so put a bolt in it. :) You'd've thought that sticking a massive 20cm bolt through a "tablet" in an arbitrary location might have some detrimental effect, but it doesn't :)
  19. Why does the ship designer allow clipping if you can't purchase a ship with clipping

That looks like outstanding, painstaking work, and the final effect is impressive. Congratulations would be in order. Such a shame that the editor doesn't disallow techniques the builder can't cope with. It strikes me that allowing clipping might be an easier approach to "closing the weld gap"...
  20. Starship Designer: Ducts and their budget point value

You don't need to use the ducts as a backbone. Your cargo cans will serve that purpose perfectly well :) You just need to be able to get a connection to a socket where you have a need for power or pipe from a given distinct grouping of touching cans, once you've got that connection into the block.
