I can see them cluttering the skies at developer stations, but player stations can simply charge advertisement fees and remove access permissions for those that don't comply. Reducing the spam. And if you think actual brands are going to advertise this way you don't know what you're talking...
A casual player is someone who plays the game, but lacks the desire for competition. A casual player can play for 19 hours a day, but if they aren't interested in the competitive nature of the game they are still a casual player. In eve, I was a a casual player. I played a fucking lot, but i...
"Commercially Driven" as if that's somehow bad for a persistent world mmo. They do require money and of course they are going to priorities things that that attract players (I.E caps). They do listen to the community, but listening and obeying are two very different things. They need to listen...
Unless I'm mistaken, it's been said that caps can only be destroyed during sieges. So are civ caps essentially indestructible since they can't participate in sieges? Seems after a point everyone and their mother will have about 50 since they can build up over time.
I'm sorry but that's not true. If you think these forums are simply for show and they don't read and consider things talked about inside of them you're mistaken. They have a section specifically for suggestions. They are deliberately asking for feedback on these forums.
I think you misunderstand what i mean. I mean its not compatible with the expandable build area since a large station 10 times the size of the initial area isn't exactly going to fit
A station isn't hard to get. A casual player will definitely want one and probably get one since its a...
Correct, but having every conflict be spawned by pointless bickering would be boring and honestly quite a toxic environment possibly filled with genuine hate. Cant build much of a community with that.
Here's the thing you guys seem to fail to understand, unless this game eventually hooks some casual players, its going to be doomed to low player counts whether it gets actual content or not. Easy build mode for stations isn't the end of the world and you can still build quite intricate stations...
I didnt play the closed alpha, but i assume you could spawn them fully constructed out of the aether anywhere in space with infinite resources. Which would be awful in a mature game waking up and some dude rolled into your area and plopped down a 3 cubic kilometer station next door.
Is there a plan to introduce a reason for large scale combat? I realize most of the work is on getting base systems working, but from what i can tell the backbone of this game is going to be frequent pvp and politics over territory or resources like in eve online. That said, even if all the...
What do you propose for stations? Welding each individual part by hand in space? Get back to me when you even bother doing that with a decent sized ship. EBM for stations is pretty much the only reasonable method to use since you cant use the design hall for them and manually doing it for...
If the devs read anything from this thread, let it be this. EBM is a pointless feature because 95% of building is done in the designer. Anything outside of the designer is usually repairs, which EBM does nothing to help with. In space EBM serves no significant purpose. Edit: Other than for...
Just pointing out 300 hours in the last 2 months is not a small amount of time. Assuming you get 8 hours of sleep that's 1/3 of your waking hours every single day. I assume by "main game" you mean after EA release.
My 2 cents on the pvp subject.
The point of pvp in most games is usually 1 of three 1: Just blow something up, 2: Defend/attack territory, 3: A reward. Currently only #1 is possible, and they try to provide that in the form of pvp stations. #2 and #3 aren't possible yet as there is no territory...
