    Poll: Camera

By "switching between cameras" I also meant the one attached to endo head. I haven't thought about multiboxing. That may be the biggest flaw of the idea. Unless it's super-restrictive and locks control in given network for everyone. But that'd hitting multi-crewed ships hard.

    Poll: Camera

I like it. It really captures the non-combat nature of cameras that many of us desires, without making it eyesore like low fps or low res cams. I'd combine it with short (2-5s) blackout when switching between cameras, so you can't macro controls to work around the limitation. I'll add it to OP

    New wepons ideas

GAU-8 is a bit big, and would serve the same purpose as twin AC (same caliber ~30mm). So doesn't really bring anything new, except visuals. But smaller caliber (rotary or not) ship mounted HMG would be very useful for anti-infantry combat, as well as against completely unarmoured fighters.

Are there going to be more devices?

So far community is quite evenly split on cameras: 1/3 don't want to see them at all, 1/3 want them to be useless in combat scenarios (low res, low fps (5hz), black and white, ect.) 1/3 want them fully functional. But let's quit camera talk here, as we can surely go for hours. Post you opinion...

Is there going to be something like Safe zones for Player Created Stations?

PCS are planned, just as some offline protection mechanics that can be taken down by laying siege. So you won't be able to grief them when nobody is there to defend it. But you also won't be magically protected if someone brings a fleet and lay a siege. We don't know any details on the defence...

    "Environmental" weaponry?

There is a railgun that shreds everything it hits, going through 13 layers of armour. Adding anything bigger would just make big ships even more useless. Weapons that hit randomly but one hit kill have no place in a game that is supposed to be skill based, and where you spend weeks designing...

    [Math] Observations on spaceship speed

TBH it looks linear. That grey curve in acceleration chart would match the results more if it were flat line, and the little deviations may be caused by measuring errors (yolol doesn't execute precisely every 0.2s, but has slight randomness)

    [Math] Observations on spaceship speed

I'm surprised how little difference there is between 4 and 6 thrusters pushing the same mass. Top speed is of course capped, but initial acceleration should be much higher for 6. Keeping the mass constant and changing thrust may be more accurate, as we have no way to precisely measure mass ATM...

    [Math] Observations on spaceship speed

I fookin love science. Thank's for your research. Seems that you can achieve almost top speed in 2s. IMO would be more fun to increase it (lower both thruster force and drag). And I mean double or triple. But that's up to devs. Have you done any tests regarding drag scaling formula? Is the...

Has a recommended internet speed been mentioned?

That sounds like a lif-line issue. It's meant to get you back in the seat in case you fall off of it in flight. In settings you have the option to turn off lifeline if the ship is stationary. You can also turn it off with a button press (IIRC "B" is the hotkey) I don't think that's related to...

How does the game handle sudden disconnections?

So far I've never been kicked out of the game due to connection problems. And I've always played with very shitty link. But it happened, during large event, that I ended up in shadow realm. I stopped seeing other players and ships, and they stopped seeing me. Re-logging fixed that. While it's as...

Ways to limit gun spam and glass cannons

That's true. Current clunky control scheme encourage bullet spam to compensate for imprecision. Although that may just shift the combat from short range dogfight to long range strafe-dodge slugfest, in which small, hard to hit ships with strong frontal shield and mainly lateral thrust would...

    Concept COMET

Asteroids are only in the belt. The closer to the middle, the more and bigger. You fly out of it, and space gets completely empty. So probably most stations and gameplay will happen in the belt. Maybe except moon-travels and long range transportation. Long enough to justify flying for few...

    Concept COMET

I thought about such idea long time ago. It's good approach both for combat and civilian use. But after playing a bit, watching videos and reading stories, I came to conclusion that too big frontal surface id not desirable for flying inside asteroid belt. Even with collision avoidance...

    How does Cooling work?

ATM guns have their internal, hard-coded cooling. Coolant racks, boards and cells are used exclusively for generators. Each generator produces heat, with amount based on current rate and amount of generators/fuel chambers around it. Coolant boards hold coolant cells. Those are filled with...

Purpose of Personal Rooms Inside Lots and Stations

Maybe just endo respawn racks that look like beds and require manual access. Viola! Personal room with a purpose.

Ways to limit gun spam and glass cannons

Hard artificial limits are never a good way to go. They only show that dev have no idea how to create gradual formulas to limit specific behaviour.

Starbase Progress Notes: Week 25 (2020)

And another suggestion went in, even if not so important. :D Can we hear a bit more about it? I've done quite extensive armour testing, and I agree it needs some change. Mostly to make plates thicker than 3cm competitive with the thin plates. Something like scaling armour value by the...

Whats your Ideal spaceship design for you, and waht will it do??

Description sounds like space camper van, not an research vessel. What kind of research would you like to do with it?

    A cargo frame theory

Rails ATM can hardly support their own weight on slowly moving ship. So until that changes - just forget about them (on moving ships). Sliders are more reliable, but limited in reach (around 1m). But if you want to use that lock frame for holding any meaningful mass, it need to have very robust...
