    Oh, I don't think that just decreasing the ammo count will be enough, but it is one of the pieces that can help to make support craft more viable. Carrying extra magazines around in fighters may be dangerous since they can explode if hit.

    Personally I think that most of the ammo counts are too high right now which makes it possible to go a whole battle without reloading while not being stingy with ammo usage. I think to help improve the use of support craft that reloading should be more frequent.

    These ships are located in the developer ship shop. It is the shop with the huge hologram saying "buy a space ship" over it in the middle-ish of Origin station. Also, there is no progression besides your own real skill and knowledge and accumulation of wealth.

    All weapons require power to function. Rail cannons take extra power to charge and hold their charge too. The power is passed through a wired hardpoint to the weapon mount.

    One change that could help to limit the gun only little ships could be to add recoil. This would limit the weapons used on small craft (if they want tons) to laser cannons.
